I'm after the best joint savings account available in order for the g/f and I to save for a house deposit. I was just about to open an account with Kaupthing Edge but unfortunately they only offer single accounts, not joint.
Any other suggestions?!

Sorry I've already posted this but now editing it as it's in the wrong forum - not instant access.
Not sure if ICICI Bank Hisave account does joint accounts but the 12 month fixed rate account without early access is at 7.20% and with early access is 6.75%. Can't remember the details but have a look at their website.
I think there were some communication issues when they first came on the scene but I've been with them from the outset and had no problems at all.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

I have 10k with Coventry BS and after noting that ICICI are paying 7.20% feel inclined to move it over to them. I have savings also with Icesave, so am happy to keep the 10k intact for a year. Can I transferr the whole amount directly from Coventry into a new account with ICICI without going through my bank? My bank only allows 2k max to be transferred in any 24 hours, so it becomes a bit of a chore.if i had known then what i know now0 -
I'm not sure so you'll have to check on ICICI site - at least it's freephone which is more than can be said for most UK banks - 08081 314151.
This is what bugs me as well with transfers - money has to be transferred from one account to my current account then out again to the new account thereby wasting time and interest.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

Hi I'm looking for a savings account to save up for my wedding next year, it must be available in joint names which I note most of the top picks aren't. Any recommendations? Other requirements are:
1. Preferably internet based
2. no notice withdrawals available online with no penalties as we will need to withdraw as and when we need to pay for things (although we'll make the payments with a cashback card and then pay off the card from the savings).
3. Monthly interest as most of the money won't be in there for a whole year.
4. We can start the account off with £1k so not worried about any minimum opening balance although we'd rather not be tied to any rigid regular payments etc.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated thanks!
Oh and we already have separate ISAs so has to be a standard saver.
Thanks0 -
Ho Hum – Need to move my savings again!!! So glad Martin keeps track of the rates. However Ref 2 & 3 in Martins best buys instant access. I had a Birmingham Midshires in Oct 2006 and it lasted only 4 months before they made it an outdated account and another account was introduced while the interest on mine dropped below that of the newly introduced one. I also had a Bradford and Bingley in Nov 2007 and it outdated in 3 months and tried again in Jan 2008 that outdated in seven months. In every case they would not upgrade my account – had to close it myself and set up the new one if I wanted to continue. They obviously cannot afford to pay all their investors at their headline rates. Do I want the effort required to try them again? I think not. Its up to them how they want to behave but it annoys me that they clutter up the best buy tables. 0
