Am I reading this right or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Do you not have the option to leave the interest with Kaupthing to compound? And by linked account you just mean your normal current account with another bank?

Yes BulletCraig you can just leave your interest in, where next month you will get interest on that.I draw mine as I require it as part of my income. The linked account I mention is indeed my current account with another Bank recently I withdrew also £1000 as I thought I may need it as it turned out I didn't so I simply transferred it back.I don't ever get a problem with Kaupthing, and my personal view is other banks ought to look closely at an example of how to treat their customers before Kaupthingy pinch ALL their customers.Ho Ho cheers m8

    That's great, thanks.

My application has been accepted but they want me to send my drivers license or my passport, neither of which I own. I've e-mailed back asking what to do. Has anyone any ideas whether this is going to be a problem or not?

Hi, a worrying development, having opened the account as recommended to obtain 6.5% interest about a month ago, I came to transfer out some cash and the system online fails. I phoned them, of course they were unaware, checked with IT, called back saying what was the problem again, derrr, and said they'd check again and call back. 2 days later and 2 more attempts to transfer out, and no call back and the system still fails.
I fear my money is stuck in there, has anyone else got their cash out of KE? Had a similar problem?
    Worried signing off.
Is there an option to send them a secure email within the site?
If so, I suggest you email them and tell them how much you want to transfer and to what account. Tell them you have tried on numerous occaisions and it has failed. Ask them to do the transfer for you.

It takes 3/4 days to arrive in your linked acct, and of course weekends don;t count as working days.Check your bank account if you have made a correct "Withdrawal"it might be already in now .

Hi, you miss my point, the system says there was an error and to try again later, which of course I have several times now, but still the cash remains in my KE account.
Chased them again by phone to day and was told the IT department know of the problem but can't find the source.
I'm worried as I need it out soon and theres no solution forthcoming.
I read elsewhere in the Forums that theres various different screens for different customers showing different screen choices, which is very odd, and also that someone who did a transfer out is still waiting to see their cash after 6 working days!
    Are you worried now?
Smile if you can, all the best, Arnie.

well I have logged in twice now with no problem .I have clicked "withdrawal" in the left side and appeared to be able just to fill in details as I have done before so to me everything looks ok,I don't know what you are on about what is this" transfer" you talk of

Quote from my post 10.51 yesterday:

    Hi Vectra
It seems you and I have differing online software presented to us, as I mentioned someone else thought this was the case.
My left hand side of screen 'options' offers me TRANSFER as the means to get your cash out, I suspect you have an earlier version of their user software which luckily for you works!
I will have to wait for them to sort it out, but ask again does anyone who see's TRANSFER as on option to get their money out have any positive results using it?
    Cheers.

I have a menu option on the left hand side called 'transfer'. I just used it to transfer a few quid out as a test and didn't get any error messages.

I successfully transferred some money out about a month ago. It took 3/4 days to arrive IIRC. AFAIK, this is industry standard.

Were you able to set up a transaction by requesting it over the telephone? If so, you have the basic functionality you need for now and I guess they will eventually trace down and fix any software fault.

Have you tried it using another browser and/or on another machine (in case there is some problem/compatability issue with the set up at your end)?

I'm on IE6.0 and XP meself.

So, no problems from here. Not sure where that gets you, exactly

    Hi
Good to know it can work then, I did try IE and also Mozilla Firefox in case that was the problem, but no of course it isn't. Also use XP Pro SP3, problems their end I fear.
Can always do a phone transfer as a last resort, but that is not whats meant o happen here, they are an online Bank offering an online service and they are failing with me.
Guess its time to relax and wait for them to sort it out.
Thanks again for testing and letting me know about it.
    Cheers.
