Sorry to read about your troubles with the application - hopefully it looks like it's sorted now. When I applied I made sure I was logged into my account first and went through the 'Apply online (Current accounts)' link in the column at the right side of my homepage. Not sure if that makes a difference as you still have to enter your personal details manually. You'd think it would automatically fill in those details with existing account info.BestSeagull said:
You may already be sorted but in case anyone else gets the email from Santander with the form to fill in and post with ID when opening the edge current account, I called them this morning and apparently in my case, the reason for it was a discrepancy between the way I had filled in the address field and how it appeared on their system already.Stargunner said:I got the same, so I printed off the form that they sent and posted it to them.
You won’t be able to successfully apply for the edge saver until your edge current account appears in your app.
He fixed it so they matched and the system will update overnight so the edge current account will appear with my other accounts in online banking and I'll be able to apply for the edge saver tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the case anyway.
But definitely worth giving them a call and seeing if the issue can be fixed over the phone instead of having to wait if doing it by post.1 -
What do people feel about Oxbury vs Shawbrook for the 4.8%. The latter has only 'next day withdrawals'.0

Thanks BestSeagull, I just called them and the reason for mine was due to a typo error by me, where one digit on my DOB was incorrect, so their system created another profile for me that had my edge account in. He has rectified il and said that it should merge overnightBestSeagull said:

For that reason I'd pick Oxbury first. In fact, I take a slightly lesser rate rather than go for Shawbrook again for that reason. Also Oxbury has instant deposits all the time even after hours and on the weekends so that helps with filling it up more quickly. Money does need to come from a linked account though.aaj123 said:What do people feel about Oxbury vs Shawbrook for the 4.8%. The latter has only 'next day withdrawals'.
And I'm sure I've read that Shawbrook deducts the money when you ask for the withdrawal so that you loose that penultimate days interest, I've actually got a message in to them at the moment asking for confirmation of this.0 -

Thanks! Yes, I made sure I did that and was surprised when nothing was pre-populated or the application abbreviated. I asked about that today too and the guy said if you make the application through the app it's pre-populated but not when you do it online.SirHugo said:

Cynergy one has a bonus element in the rate. Not a big deal I agree.janusdesign said:aaj123 said:What do people feel about Oxbury vs Shawbrook for the 4.8%. The latter has only 'next day withdrawals'.FWIW, my preference for the 4.8%+ accounts would be...- Cynergy

there will be a new issue out before that bonus has elapsed and so the clock starts again.aaj123 said:
