Is there a good date in the month to remove money from the HSBC BNS Saver?
1st of the month is optimal. And then all of it as the balance is worth diddly squat in interest.
Bear in mind HSBC is announcing new rates shortly https://www.msn.com/en-ie/news/uknews/hsbc-uk-planning-to-boost-its-savings-rates/ar-AA1cX7V1 possibly from thursday like first direct
My money is on them and FD only raising their measly 1.35% standard rate of interest

Perhaps - although they are making a big deal about it if that is all:

‘Good news. Some of our savings rates are on the rise. The shake-up starts 29 June.’

‘rates’ implies on more than one account imo

I wouldn't be surprised if the bonus saver only rose marginally but it's the regular savers I'm more bothered about. They haven't budged an inch for several months and HSBC in particular is beginning to lose its competitiveness. If they do a repeat performance of late last year their HSBC/FD regular savers could end up increasing for existing customers, which would be rather nice.

No, but at 4.00% and a minimum of £25k deposit, why not look at better rate providers?

    https://www.monument.co/savings/easy-access-savings/

Eg Chip at 4.21% with a £1 deposit?
Mortgage and debt free. Building up savings...

Is anyone else still hanging onto their YBS Rainy Day Account? Still at 3.85% gross with no sign of an update. Think it might be time to pull the plug on this one.

Love Chip, they just need to put the rate up faster.
Cash goes from Chip to Coventery to Tandem and back to Chip.
    What a game.

I can wait until they announce their rate changes, but it's need a significant increase to make it worthwhile - even for only £5k

I'm keeping mine but with a £1.01 balance (my initial deposit). I rarely close accounts with a £1 or £1.01 balance though to be fair since they cost very little to maintain and if on the off chance the rate rises to a competitive level after it's been withdrawn I'd be kicking myself if I'd already closed the account. I've still got their Family Saver too (only a £1 balance this time).

Funnily enough I was just looking at mine too. They do need to add almost the full 0.5% if it's to retain the lead it had before. Otherwise I'll be taking my umbrella elsewhere!
