Still heard no response from Oxbury since yesterday. How long so they take to open an account?
I think my first account with them was opened immediately, but that was a notice account back in November - it's been a while (if ever) since they had an easy access account (let alone the top unrestricted rate)... so possibly snowed under.
if I were you, i'd go to their help page and a green chat button should appear bottom right - click on that and you should be able to chat with a real agent quickly - failing that, send them an email (to the email address on their contact us page) and you should get a reply quickly and hopefully you'll find out what the delay is.

Thanks guys.  Moving money out now but will leave £1 in it just in case it surprises us all! 🐈
always remember that it's a 12-month account at the end of which is reverts to (if I recall correctly) an Everyday Saver currently paying 0.85% - for me, I think that's October, but I emptied mine last month and then this month I received 9p in interest (the current balance).

I'm looking to open a new savings account. Is it worth waiting a few more weeks or do it now with one of the accounts mentioned (would probably be Oxbury as I'd want instant access, no cap on withdrawals and I can't guarantee a set amount in each month due to being on mat leave)? Currently got my savings in my Starling account, which I'm also in the process of changing to HSBC for their £200 switch reward offer.
with Oxbury, deposits are quick but withdrawals wouldn't necessarily be "instant" (though seemingly that word means different things to different people lol) - it should be same working day if before 1pm, after that it would be the next working day... for Oxbury, I think a working day would be defined as Monday to Friday (the days they work), so I guess a withdrawal on Friday 2pm wouldn't arrive until the following Monday.
if you need withdrawals immediately (or within mins), then you should probably look at Atom, Chip or Tandem - Cynergy would be quick, but their interest rate is lower than all the above.

Wouldn't say anything via Raisin is quite "easy access" - my experience is ~2 working day transfers min (I've had to wait a week in the past due to holidays etc).

Yes, I've found Raisin to be good for fixed rate accounts where a day or two for transfer isn't too much of an issue, but not so good for easy access.

Oxbury declined. They did those checks that they "don't do for savings accounts", or "shouldn't do" ie soft credit checks. Once again, its because my address has been used by someone else with bad rating.

Ps. I can be ok with that, since I never heard of Oxbury until two days ago.

How do you know what was actually done?

And who told it was due the address? As this its completely false.

Savings accounts will do an ID check. Not a credit check.
