  • According to the Coventry Building Society website this morning (8 am), the Bank of England has increased interest rates today :o;) 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hope this is a sign they've got some nice savings rates increases in the pipeline.
    Here’s hoping! 🤞

No suprise that an increase is coming after the US increased by 0.25% and ECB increased by 0.5% recently. Thought the bank failures would've slowed down but guess not!
Saw some article yesterday which said the banks had made an extra £7 billion by not passing on saving increases, while making more money on their loans/mortgages.
  • Does anyone know what time chip calculate the interest for that day?

    General question inspired by this:

If you had savings accounts with two different institutions, that you can transfer between instantly, and they had, say a 1-hour difference between the times that money has to be in the account in order to earn interest for that day, how many days in a row do you think you could rotate money between the accounts before one or both institutions noticed and got upset about it?

Their first increases in nearly 3 months, with timing near the BoE announcement almost as interesting as Marcus. Note the top tiers of their Issue 11/12 Internet Saver Plus will remain 0.1% higher than the available Issue 13 and are still among their accounts that don't have a lower rate for balances above 20K.
