    Based on previous BoE rate adjustments do we expect Al Rayan to increase their rate from 2.81% or is it unpredicatable?

    did Al Rayan move after the rate change before last? I can't remember.. anyway, i'm with @bettz and moved my balance (bar £1) out this morning - remember that there is a £20k daily withdraw limit with Al Rayan...
    even if they moved to 3%, there would still be better paying options out there... if Al Rayan increase significantly in the future, will happily move back.

    Al Rayan's last change was around the 21/10/22.

    I just put my interest into a higher paying EA account, so that the principle remains and indeed @poppystar it is reinvested for my ice cream funds - or as I'm going to Switzerland this year; beer, rösti and apfelkuchen.  For what it's worth, me, beer and getting into moving cable cars don't mix well.

  • Hi - is there a way of seeing more accounts than those picked as 'best'?

    None shown are best for me as they are either limited withdraw or app only / no joint accounts.

    I want an easy access one that is properly online (and, ideally, allows joint accounts). I'm currently getting 2.50% but presume I can do better......

    If you have a look at Moneyfacts, just keep scrolling down until you come to what suits you.  Be sure to select "rate order" tab towards the top left of the page, otherwise it'll just show apply online versions first;

  • Is this suitable? 2.9%
    Joint accounts can be opened online, easy access,no limits on withdrawal.

    The Shawbrook Bank Easy Access Issue 33 may work for you? I don't have Shawbrook, but they pay 3.01%, easy (unlimited) access (but IIRC they have minimum withdrawal amounts), with online access, and appear to offer joint accounts.

    Alternatively, I can vouch for the Saffron BS MySaver - it pays 2.95% easy (unlimited) access, with a £1 minimum balance, can be applied for and managed online (but they also offer an app if you wanted in the future), and it can be held as a joint account.

    @middle_of_the_road has also suggested a good account - this is a base rate tracker guaranteed to track 1.10% below the base rate for 2 years. That means although it is not as good as Saffron or Shawbrook right now, it may overtake them after the next base rate rise, as saffron and Shawbrook don't track the base rate on these accounts.

    Cheers, I got 3.0% with the Post Office. Have gone from Saga to the Post Office - both were best for me/us at the time. No trendy new young banks here. I think the world is trying to tell me something about my age....... (quite apt really as this is for my newly accessed pension cash!)

    I may have missed this posted elsewhere and it does have some hoops, but the NatWest digital regular saver is now 6% not 5%. https://www.natwest.com/savings/digital-regular-saver.html

    Posted here even though it’s a regular saver, because it is instant access for withdrawals even though you’re limited on the amount you can put in each month.
