I recently purchased a window and door from stevenswood which I fitted myself.
Stevenswood was the best price I could find for bespoke sizes. Give them a ring for a quote for the materials, then see how that compares with your overall price.
Remember to add on a little bit extra for facings, foam, sealant etc0 -
Hi All,
In the end I've gone for £3300 including a Solidor composite door.
Concept Windows in Hornchurch quoted £4400 (with the usual deal on the day discount to £3950)
However I've had a family run business in Leigh on Sea quote £3300, the man was very professional with none of the pressure selling, discount on the day nonsense.
The quote is
- Solidor Door with two glass half height side panels
- Bathroom Window 1100 x 1400 with fanlight
- Bathroom Window 1100 x 900 with fanlight
- Bedroom Window - 1600 x 1100 - two halves with 1 fanlight
- Hallway Window 500 x 900 - restricted opening
Windows are Veka branded
Thanks for everyone's advice and glad I stopped my wife handing across £5.5k that evening0 -
good news solidoor and veka are decent and known . hope all goes well . hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
