Your first move should be to call Sky, advise them that your circumstances have changed and that you can no longer afford the payments.
See what they offer first - not in there interests to spend money tried to get blood out of a stone.THIS. I did this some time ago when I became unemployed due to ill health. I'd been a Sky customer for several years and they gave me 3 months completely free and said to ring them at the end of that if my circumstances hadn't changed. Sky want to retain customers and are quite flexible, probably one of the most flexible companies out there.
I did try this. They were more keen on reducing costs if I signed to another 12 months from today which I am not prepared to. The offer was a further £3 off (so £1 given a £2 increase in April) I did manage to remove the HD channels in 31 days so that will save me £5 a month.0 -
Contacted Sky to renegotiate my contract as it expires in mid-March. They said I would get the best deal in the universe (ok I might have used creative language a bit) offered to reduce from £38.95 sky fibre max to £27 (I don't own a Tv). I pointed out that's the exact same deal they give to new customers and if I was a new customer I could go through Topcashback and get £95 cashback, he said he could do nothing more so it's off to Plusnet.0
