As an example I rented a vehicle in January with Budget at Belfast Int through a broker. A decent rate for 4 days but wanted £1000 for excess. Best suggestion is to purchase either a single or annual excess policy which should cover you. Book it before you go not as an added extra to the rental as it will work out more expensive.0
