Do virgin and t mobile use the same network??

Hi ya,

I'm wondering if virgin and t mobile are the same network reason i ask is that i have a virgin sim card and the phone i want is on t mobile and i read somewhere that virgin share/ use the same network as t mobile, so then i won't need to get my phone unlocked.

Virgin uses the T-Mobile network. The phone should work on both.

I'm pretty sure the simlock issue only works one way. A Virgin sim will always work in a T-Mobile locked phone, but depending on the phone, some Virgin phones will not accept a T-Mobile sim without unlocking.

many payg's are unlocked anyway, i got an nokia 6300 (bloody good phone btw) from carphone warehouse and just poped my virgin sim in.

cpw phones usually are unlocked; wouldn't count on that generally though! Don't like the 6300 either; not a patch on a good S/E! Lol!

Thanks for the quick reply - i'm going to buy my phone today just thought i'd check before hand - i'm getting it from dixons online as they are far the cheapest that all the shopes even t mobile which the phone is on.:j

only from CarPhoneWarehouse.

if you buy from any shop they will most likely be locked
