Well, it's months ago for a start. This thread is from February and, as I said back then, it's extremely unlikely the lock fitted would fail to reach British Standards. Even some costing £5 are compliant.Manxman_in_exile wrote: »

The OP being abroad and (apparently) unable to check for the BS Kitemark is what is complicating matters, allegedly along with the use of a lock from a previous job rather than "brand new"
Why the OP has bumped the thread so long afterwards is beyond me, all the possible (speculative) answers and possible solutions have already been given. In addition, if the OP has indeed withheld payment for so long, I'm surprised he isn't already being called to attend court as the respondent.0 -
The OP has no evidence that the lock has been reused, it's purely his suspicion, based on no evidence that I can see.
All he had to do was ask the locksmith to take a pic of the lock after fitting and send it to him. That will show if it's new, and whether it's BS rated, which is stamped onto it.No free lunch, and no free laptop
