  • Morning all and thank you for starting us off Dumpling.

It was cold when I got up but the sun is shining now - specially planned for my towels which are chugging along in the washer now.

I've some jobs to do but nothing awful, the sitting room is dusty and I cleaned it the other day. I think my approach to housework possibly leaves something to be desired.

I will be back for the bananagate report.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • SCARLETRIBBONS I have always been able to rely on BM for jeans but, for some reason, this winter they have let me down! I have short stumpy legs and skinny jeans do nothing for me. Neither, on the other hand, do baggy ones! I like a straight, but not baggy, leg! And to add to the list I don't like low waisted ones as, like you, I am forever pulling them up! I got some white jeans from them last summer which were perfect and an identical pair in black is what I am looking for!

The rain has stopped, as they said it would, and the sun is now trying to get out. I live in hope!

    Take care all xx

Morning! I was up super early [for me] to give me time to wake up for doc appointment. I'm not expecting anything from it, maybe a follow up for some other small side effect. Am now aking the first of my ten year course of tablets. Who wants to make a guess at how often I remember to take them? Although I did put them by the kettle to help with that...
I made it to a supermarket yesterday although not for very long, but that's the one place i do enjoy shopping at. I get Ikea-itis in SMs..I go in for one thing, and come out with a whole host of stuff I didn't even think of...It's even worse when there's an Argos in there...I was good yesterday though because I couldn't carry anything so I could only go in for what I went in for.
Today I have to find the pattern for the dress [next sewing hurdle] and iron it first and cut out etc ready for tomorrow pinning and cutting.

camelot, excersing in the house, good on you, wish I had the willpower, I think about it, but i don't do it. OL, should have kept it, I would have. Holly, good on you, enjoy your day! dumpling, hope your health is improving...TA, enjoy your day out..Nelski, is it plug and play or wireless? Might be worth asking on the tech board. Happy banana day...?
redruby, it's usully me snoring so I can't boot myself out of bed but if it helps, I do feel guilty about it since the OH is working and I don't want to keep him up...SO, have a lovely coffee day! TA, is there an M&S?
Wotcha Poppy, tru. Anyone seen WM?
    Toasty warm Tuesday everyone...

All is well here. Steve was wiped out last night from the exertion of getting home which has made him realise that his plan to start walking 2-3 miles a day is stupid, much to my relief, he has no half measures.

We have to go back to clinic on Thursday in preparation for next weeks chemo so I only have 2 days respite from driving to Cambridge. I'm going to take it easy today because I feel very tired.

Morning it’s nice this morning but not sure how long it will last as yesterday it was nice so got my washing out then it threw it down so had to bring it in I am working this morning but not long dd has to go to one of my friends house but she doesn’t want to go I wish I could leave her but she is 11 so I am not sure leaving her yet. Later when dh is back I am working again then I might go to the gym on the way back not sure I don’t normally go on a Tuesday so if I don’t it’s not a problem. I do want to go to the library as my books are due back it’s open later tonight so can go after tea. I have got some sea bass out to defrost as I haven’t had fish for a bit. Stay safe. Hope Steve s temp goes down.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Hope Steve had a better night last night.

Its a bright morning, have a load of white washing in. Yesterdays was drying nicely on the line. I was in the sewing room and noticed it was going dark, went to the back door to take the washing in, it was slinging it down, so ended up leaving it and later took it in put it through the spinner and then into the dryer......grrrr.

Getting on ok with the quilt I am making, just 3 blocks to sew and then I can start putting it together. Will not get much, if any done today, we have an appointment to get our hair cut this morning and out to friends for a cuppa this afternoon. They had to scrap their motor home after they had problems with the fuel system, so R is busy fitting out a new to them ex BT van. It has to be ready for the middle of next month when they go down to Somerset for 2 weeks doing assemblies in schools.

OH had 3/4 of an hour in the garden yesterday, no gardening today and I doubt we will get any done tomorrow either I have an appointment at the opticians tomorrow morning to sort out new glasses. Not sure if OH is going in with me but if he stays at home he is not allowed in the garden whilst I am not there.

Tonight we are going to have another of the Parsley box meals, I am not impressed with them, Chilli but no rice. With WFF you get the lot and they work out cheaper. I am desperately trying to clear a drawer in the freezer so I can get a weeks supply from them.

OL I hope the medication helps, Chin up Taff, and hugs to Poppy.

So supper, Chilli and rice for me, Lasagne for OH. There are also a couple of small sponge puddings so will have those as well.

I woke up around eight and could hear a conversation going on. Puzzled as I am on my own just now and wondered if I had left the bedroom window open and could hear people outside. I then woke up properly to realise the small tv in my bedroom had turned itself on!

I took a container of soup and a mince and veg home made meal out of the freezer last night so that will do for lunch and for tonight. I might add some butter beans to the soup as it is a bit thin and then reduce it a little on the hob.

Middle dd has taken a day off as her new mattress is being delivered some time today and as she only lives a few streets away I might e mail her later to see if she could use any help.

    SO

I am surprised the other grandparent does not suggest DIL pops in to see you now and again especially as you are not that far away. Even if you did not get on like a house on fire most people would feel it is important for a child to know their family and vice versa. I hope things improve and you get a chance to see them soon.

Just had a knock on the door and thought it might be a parcel I ordered but it turned out to be special paint my dd had ordered so I will let her know.

I had not heard of parsley but had heard of Wiltshire as I had been trying to convince my Dad to use them but he decided the supermarket ones were cheaper.

    Hugs to all

Morning all - it's still very wet, windy and mild in my wee corner of the world.

I had a very awake night, no idea why as I wasn't worried or too hot, I blame the moon! I just stayed in bed with my eyes closed and enjoyed resting until I fell asleep again.

Before I came downstairs I tackled the pen box.

This one is before - the box was almost filled up:
    Pens1.jpg

Once culled this is the more respectable stash!

    pens2.jpg

There were six pairs of tweezers amongst the pens and I found another four pairs underneath the box. Seems I buy some, put them away and forget where. Don't even think that a pen box is the correct place for them, no wonder I couldn't find any! All non-writing implements have been moved to their proper place and a load of dried up pens now in the bin. Some pens from 2012 and two from my trip to Dubai in 2010 are still working. The clear ones suffered the worst.

I've had some porridge with seeds, it doesn't keep me full and I hate the way the wee bits of oats stick to my teeth, however I'm not throwing it out. There's a cauliflower roasting in the oven and I've got some lamb's liver defrosting to go with it later.

More online work to be done today. I'm not going to miss any of this next year.

Hugs to all, good vibes go out to all those poorlies or looking after poorlies. I hope that everyone has a Happy Tuesday.
  • Morning all
It's very grey and wet underfoot, although it's not raining at the moment but feels cooler.
After my chilled day yesterday I now have a few jobs to do, so in no particular order they are :-
Hoover the downstairs, empty the DW, sort the clean washing basket into ironing and non ironing and then put the clothes away. The fridge drawer needs sorting and cleaning as I have had a wayward cue too  . I'm sure it was fine on Sunday when I used it
I will fill a CS bag ready for Friday collection, which will be an easy task as I have already sorted some unwanted clothes and shoes and put them into a medium to large suitcase, ready to take to the cs but I will move them into the bag. I hope I can get them all in then I can dispose of the suitcase as it's very old and battered and ultimately saves me a difficult journey to the cs :j.
I also want to wash out the recycling boxes and the food caddy when the bin men have been. I don't know when they will arrive today, normally they are here first thing but they haven't been yet...... typical :D
Mr Fix It let me down with his cheffing yesterday, the food was edible but not up to his normal standard :(. As a penance he is cooking again today :j.
Right enough waffling, I must do something ! I shall feed the birds first though as they are dancing on the patio to get my attention :rotfl:
Hope all the poorly people show some improvement today.

    Have a good Tuesday everyone
Take care and hugs to all
    nan xx
