Old Style Daily Tuesday 19th February

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning everyone :hello:,
It's a little bit chilly here with the back door open for the dogs but it feels nice after a night spent in a too warm bedroom. I am going to have to strip the bed and swap to a cotton duvet cover as the brushed one on the bed is just far too cosy and I had a very uncomfortable night.
Steve and Phoebe are up and getting ready for work but the others are fast asleep as it is Half Term here this week. I have shopping being delivered between 10 - 11 so they will have to get up to help put it all away. Other than that, I don't have much planned apart from doing the washing.
We are having beefburgers for dinner tonight so that will be quick and easy. I have to remember to get some chicken out for tomorrow and also the bottom of the fridge is rather unpleasant so that will need a quick scrub before the new shopping arrives. I think a cucumber went rogue.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start dumpling.
I went swimming yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, I really shouldn't take a break as it's hard to go back but once I'm there it's fine. I went for a walk to the glass bank when I got home then did half an hours Yoga, trying to get this lower back problem sorted and it does seem easier today.
Pretty much the same today but will walk to the library, the two books I took out this time were rubbish.
Hope Steve has had a comfortable night, hugs to all the poorlies. Enjoy Tuesday, take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
My niece is coming over to see me today and she has suggested that we go out to lunch somewhere. I think she wants to go to a country pub we went to last summer. The place was really nice and there was a good selection on the menu so I am looking forward to that.
I gave up on the idea of wardrobe decluttering yesterday, the washing and shopping with a little bit of housework was enough. I spent the afternoon reading instead which was much more enjoyable.
When I first started sorting out the wardrobe I found a really nice skirt that I had forgotten I had. It’s really good quality and never been worn but a bit too long, so I think I probably put it away planning to get it taken up and then forgot about it. I may make a start on that this evening.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning everyone
dumpling - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH up and getting ready for work as is DS1, DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.
Still dark here, but dry and mild, hoping it won't be as gloomy yesterday, we had some rain in the afternoon too, not much but enough to dampen the washing that I'd left on the line. I have another load I'll put out today.
Dinner last night was fish, chips, beans/veg. I used up some LO mashed potato to make the topping for a small fish pie, which I had with veg. I remembered to get the pork steaks out to defrost, tonight we'll have those with mash and veg.
Yesterday work was either manic or dead, we have a bit of an issue at present that is being dealt with but person concerned is not happy but the situation as it was affects everyone else in the team and is not necessary anyway, hoping the situation calms down - we're heading to our busy time and we don't need that as an ongoing issue at that time. I'm on my short day today.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks DUMPLING. It feels a bit chillier this morning than what we have been having so I have popped the heating on for a little while to take the chill off. We also have light rain but it's forecast to stop shortly and return this evening. It seems ages since we had rain.
Once I eventually got to sleep last night I slept better than the previous night thank goodness. I was like a washed out rag all day yesterday.
No childminding to do today as DD never works Tuesdays so a day to call my own. I am catching the 9.30 bus to meet my friend for our regular Tuesday coffee morning followed by lunch. So a no cooking day for me which will be nice. Then I will just settle for a bowl of soup and sandwich tonight. I think I said we are working our way through the menu and had already chosen winter chicken casserole for today! (The man on the next table looked to be enjoying it!) But that may change if we are tempted by this week's Special!
We will have a little wander of the shops afterwards and see if anything tempts us. Though there is nothing I am really wanting. But I am STILL on the lookout for some nice fitting black jeans!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely and welcome home to STEVE, I hope his temp stays down this time. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning
Brrr it's a bit chilly this morning.
New printer arrived yesterday and guess what I couldn't set it up  now have a useless black box till I can find out how to do it. Not being able to print added to my buzzing head last night along with all the other stuff so minimal sleep again.
Did sort some other work bits out but still lots to do today which is a pain as its mum day. Having that sense that I just want to stop the world and get off for a bit at the moment but hey ho will have a stern word with myself instead and get on with it like everyone else on here
Got rid of another charity bag I filled over the weekend yesterday bringing my declutter total to 7 bags now :T Can see space in my previously packed wardrobe and it feels good.
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Morning all
I went to bed at eight last night, I was so tired as OH had kept me awake the night before with his snoring I booted him out to the spare room in the end but I could still hear him  anyway I was asleep by nine right through till six this morning so feel ready to go today
Steak pie for dinner tonight a ready made one but it looks lovely with mash and veg, looking forward to that.
Its very icy here and very foggy although its meant to be nice later on, we might possibly get up to 20deg by the weekend :T
Nels enjoy your banana gazing today
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning, seems fine and dry today. Yesterday was nice enough as well.
TA, have you looked in Bon Mar*he for jeans - I'm going to try theirs, in the hope that I can find a pair that fit. Well, I'm going to try a pair on anyway. I don't have much of a defined waist, so have trouble keeping jeans up, these medium rise things are no good for me, I 'm pulling them up all the time. Also I have a bit of a tummy, but a small backside (I always say my a*se has moved round to the front) I was thinking of going to the nearest store this week sometime, on a jeans hunt. Hope you have a good day anyway, and enjoy your lunch.
SO, I read your Sunday post and was so sad to read how badly the family are treating you, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Holly, hope you have a nice day with your niece.
It'll be the usual Tuesday here I hope, Tai Chi, bit of shopping, quiz tonight. I'll be visiting one of my Tai Chi friends who is not well.
Thinking of the sad and poorly
Take care folks0 -
Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off dumpling
Holly enjoy your lunch with your niece, take care of yourself.
OL hope you are feeling better
Candygirl hope you had a good time with your DD and grandchildren yesterday and you get to spend more time with them soon.
Thoughts especially with Poppy, taff and Steve
It's cold this morning, well it was when I tried to sneak to the garage freezer unseen, wearing my pj's only to see my neighbour getting into his car
Today we are going out for coffee, it's my little treat to me. Always tastes better when someone else makes you a cuppa and you don't have to wash up.
Take care allIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Good morning one and all,
Cold but dry here this morning.
Yesterday I stayed late in work, super late in fact, then left for my yoga class at 7.30. The class is really good and I like the teacher, very friendly and positive. Exactly what you'd expect from a yoga teacher actually. It didn't finish till 9.15 so not much else I could do with my evening.
No gym this morning as I slept through my damn alarm. I'll go after work. Try and leave on time today as I also have a growing mountain of ironing to do which is annoying me.
Chicken quesadillas for dinner tonight. Never actually made them before so god knows how they'll end up.
Yesterday was NSD #6
SO - Enjoy your joe. It's deserved.0
