Just to play devil's advocate somewhat - It may be that, having had to ask a friend for a loan which they can't repay, they are just too embarrassed to face you and admit that they can't pay you back. Your messages may well be being as ignored as many do with debt collection letters etc, simply because they have their head stuck in the sand. It's wrong to ignore you, but once your debts become overwhelming, your mind just sees it as futile and refuses to acknowledge it.

£80 a week is a lot and their agreement to this may just have been desperation to pay off the initial debt.

If you haven't already (and you want to see if you can save the friendship), it might be worth saying to them that you appreciate that £80 is a lot and that you'd be willing to accept smaller payments over a longer period, thus giving them a 'way out' of the debt which they can manage.

Or they might have just taken you for a ride, in which case, sue (if you realistically think that they have any way of repaying you, or if you want to make a point by making them pay £1 a week for the next however long). Or send them another message saying that you're walking away from it (and make sure your other friends don't lend them anything!).
It aint over til I've done singing....

I assume you know where this friend lives?

Just send them a message saying that you now really need the money back, and that if they do not get in touch in the next 7 days to arrange repayment , you will have no choice but to take them to court for repayment of the full amount.

If they do not respond in 7 days, post back here and we can help you with a letter before action.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
