Coincidentally I have just returned a pack of Tesco all-in-one dishwasher tablets which didn't get dishes clean and didn't fully dissolve. As well as a full refund I was offered the option to receive the manufacturer's report since local customer services said they hadn't had any other reports of problems with the product.
Maybe Tesco are trying to cut one corner too many? Regardless of the result. I've gone back to Aldi tabs, slightly cheaper and I've never had a problem with them.

I have just done exactly the same thing except I've gone back to lidl own brand.

I assume running a hot wash/cleaning cycle will disperse any leftover tablets/pods.
Most manufacturers recommend a cleaning cycle anyway and I find a 30 wash doesn't always dissolve tabs.

Washing tablets aren’t supposed to go in the detergent drawer. They break up as they tumble with the clothes

    According to the instructions
Remove the required number of tablets from the protective wrapper and place them flat in the machine drawer. Do not stack. Alternatively, place the tablets at the back and bottom of the drum before adding garments
  • I find that a 30 degree wash never properly dissolves any of the tablets or those squishy plastic thingy's.
    Stopped using them completely.
  • Yes - the instructions say put them in the drawer. The water that runs through the draw is cold. BTW, my complaint to Tesco has not been responded to yet.
  • I think I have this. Will check.
  • Never put tablets or pods in the drawer. If they slip down into the dispenser-to-tub hose, they temporarily block it before they have had a chance to completely dissolve so the fill water continues to fill the drawer section and rises up and floods out of the soap drawer.
