Thank you for starting us off Dumpling

Thoughts are with everyone finding life difficult, special thoughts with Holly, taff, poppy, Steve and OL.

Didn't post yesterday, felt really down. By chance we saw DiL visiting her mother during the week and she said she would visit us with Dgs, we were so looking forward to seeing him, made lots of cake for afternoon tea, then had an email to say dgs wasn't well and they wouldn't be coming. Looked at her fb page and seems he was well enough to go to the cinema. So we went to visit mother, ignored us, not a word.
I just don't know what I have done that is so wrong to be treated like this.

Sorry, I know others have such real problems, I'm just feeling sorry for myself.

oh SO my heart breaks for you it really does and btw this is a real problem and we all want to support you. Just wish I could give you a big hug xx

Morning everyone, just been having a quick catch up as haven't read for a couple of days.
Eldest DD moved to Stockholm on Wednesday....she loves her new apartment....it's small but perfect for her.
Shes been supermarket shopping and had some lovely walks round the city. She starts her new job tomorrow.
I have flights booked to go and visit her at Easter....so not too long till I see her again.
Little grand daughter is doing well. She's now 3lbs 15oz and due to be weighed again today so will hopefully have reached 4lbs! She is now feeding well and plans are being made for her to come home soon. It seems as if she'll come home on oxygen...they don't know how long for...it could be up to a year. DD is coping really well still but just wants to get her home now. Its a long way for her up to the hospital every day and late nights by the time she gets home again. I was at the hospital yesterday, but visiting is only an hour so it's a long day for DD by herself. Little one was hanging onto my little finger...the size of her hands fascinates me! When I was there on Wednesday I had my first cuddle...just for a few minutes as her breathing went a bit funny...but I was a very happy granny!
Will be going down to sit with my dad later and then I'm planning on a lovely afternoon by myself....I might even read some of my Sunday Times on a Sunday! It's half term so looking forward to my week off.

Silver- oldie ….I can't understand how anyone can be like that with their parents. My dad has dementia and takes up so much of my time which can sometimes be difficult when I work full time. My mum too needs company and to spend time with someone else just for her own sanity. I never begrudge giving them this time...one day I won't have them . Take care

Morning. Nice weather again yesterday and today I had a lovely day with my friend shopping we did all the charity shops and found some bargains so both were happy I didn’t spend that much Today some other friends are coming round I have stuff like pizzas and burgers for the kids and I will make soup as I need something on plan as yesterday I had a chippy dinner which was very nice but not low fat Dh has gone fishing after I have written this I will do some cleaning and dusting but it’s not too bad I am looking forward to them coming round as dd and I spend a lot of time on our own so I thought I would invite them round

Perhaps you might want to post something on her FB page then saying hope he's better, we made lots of cake and have loads left over.....
Maybe you on your own could sit down with them and ask them why they don't visit too. It may be for a raeson you havn't thought of, and explain how upset you are about it. If it isn't though,, then cut them out the will and dance naked round a flaming tree shouting imprecations to ungrateful offspring ::)
Is there a reason you don't visit them?

Totally agree with Nelski in that this is a real a problem as anyone else is facing SO as it’s clearly impacting on your mental health? I know you have caught your DIL out before saying things on FB but in this case she clearly lied to you. I know you have been reluctant to involve your son in the past but shouldn’t he know that’s she’s done this, I doubt she even mentioned the possibility of a visit to you.
Sorry if I’m out of order here but this is a despicable way of treating your child’s grandparents :mad:

I thought I should let you know that I have withdrawn from my oral chemo. As you know it is designed to hold the spread of the cancer for a while but there is no cure. When it stops working then the drug is stopped. Unfortunately I have had infection after infection plus blood clots on my lungs and when I am at home all I can do is sit on the sofa or go to bed. It also gives me urinary incontinence and anorexia. On balance I would rather have a short period of feeling a little better to enjoy my family and friends.

I won't post again but will carry on reading. All good wishes to our poorly ones and many thanks for all your kind thoughts.

Such a brave decision poppy. My love goes to you.

It's been pelting down all blooming morning. The wind was howling most of the night too. I have no plans to go outside today!

I've been attacking the three drawer chest in the bedroom, there's so much stuff, most of which is simply rubbishy bits. I've ploughed through a packet of photos and divided them into two piles- one for immediate binning and the other for scanning and then binning. There's three tins of cinnamon mints I brought back from Jordan in 2012, they're just a sticky mess now. I'm not sure I actually need 42 pens anymore, especially as most are now dried up.

When I venture downstairs I'll have an avocado pear with a poached egg as they need using up. I also need to cook the packet of yummy sausages.
