Capital One 'Resolver' site confusion!

Hi, Capital One have confirmed by email that I had PPI for a credit card with them many moons ago and given me the reference details to make a complaint through the Resolver website. It has asked me which service I have an issue with, and I don't know which I'm supposed to choose: PPI or Credit Card? The confusion is because I ended up paying lots of charges on the credit card account because the PPI had been missold and when I lost my job they refused to cover repayments.

I'd like to get the complaint in but am unsure what it is I'm supposed to complain about. If I choose the PPI option, for example, will that cover the charges they levied on me back then as well as the monthly premiums I paid?

Credit card charges are not PPI. If you want to complain about such charges, you need to make a separate complaint.

    Why are you using Resolver?

Just complain about exactly the issue you want to highlight by writing to or calling them direct.

However, you won't get a refund of credit card charges due to mis-sold PPI I'm afraid. If you were mis-sold, you'll only receive a refund (plus interest) of the PPI you paid.

Thanks so much for replying to my post, Moneyineptitude. That couldn't be clearer then, I'll go the PPI complaint route! Will update this thread as and when, to let you know how it goes.

EDIT: Forgot to answer your question about Resolver. I'm using it because I applied through the Capital One website to make a complaint, and they sent me an email to say they could confirm I had PPI on my card with them. The email invited me to follow a link to the Resolver website for help in registering the complaint.

Credit card PPI is a bit different, the FOS redress method requires the card firm to remove the PPI from the account and then redo all the sums to remove any interest paid on the PPI charge (and refund it) as well as any charges (plus associated interest) that would not have applied were the PPI not present
