I have used tyres on the drive twice and they do it on the pavement upfront of my house. Though for wheel alignment I have an Ats euromaster nearby though expensive at £46 for wheel alignment but it is computerised. When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche
Please note that at no point during this work was the kettle ever put out of commission and no chavs were harmed during the making of this post.0 -
Never heard of them.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

They managed to bust the pressure sensor during a routine tyre replacement, then got the wrong part, then had to give up and take it to a dealer to program correctly. Lot of visits and wasted time.
But they did sort it eventually, and the tyres via their pre-ordered online were cheapest. Probably won't be my first choice again.0 -
I suspect they are like any of these chains - very much dependent on the specific one that you visit.
I've just had a set of tyres fitted at my local F1 in Crewe. I bought them online, booked an appointment, arrived as they asked about 10 minutes early, came back in about 90 minutes and it was all done. No attempt to upsell anything, no false "did you know this is wrong with your car", person I dealt with was clearly very busy but polite and helpful. No complaints from me.
Now, the web site tried a few upselling things, but it only takes a second or two to click past them. It's about the third time I've used them, and I'll probably do so again.0 -
Went to F1 autocentre Norwich on Barn road on Sunday 31st March 2019, to have 2 tyres fitted to my fiesta and was told that there would be a free check on the wheel alignment, the 2 tyres were fitted and oh yes as I guessed the alignment was out by 5% and not being a mechanic I felt pressurised to say yes to having the alignment done and was told James Bedford (employee) that he could cut me a deal, instead of paying £42:00 he would charge me £39.50 which is more than the price of one of the tyres I had put on. Do not use F1 autocentres they seem nice on the outside but then reel you in with oh this needs doing and this is faulty etc, where as after seeking advice I didn't really need the alignment doing. CON ARTISTS..0

I could see that you might call them "con artists" if you'd checked your tracking prior to visiting and knew full well that it wasn't out by any amount. I can't see how someone else can say that you didn't need it doing, unless they also saw how it was set prior to the work being done. And if that had happened, surely you'd have declined F1s alignment offer?
I don't understand how you can call them "con artists" now - you had a choice to not have the tracking checked (they ask on the online sales, too), and you had a choice not to have it adjusted after they'd done the free check.
Would you prefer that they hadn't mentioned it, and you'd gone back to them two months after buying the tyres because they'd worn badly and needed replacing prematurely?0
