If they rang you, what could they say, in an ideal world.

    We're not sorry.
    We aren't offering compensation.
But - hands have been chopped off.

I suggest a diary in future.

In that case I suggest you get in touch with the admin's and get them to remove the 'Vent' from the forum's title.

I expect a vent to have detail.
This is a personal post with no detail and no value or warning to others.

The OP has stated that JL compromised their personal detail and that despite promises, still haven't called them to discuss the problem which is why they are venting on here.
If the post was intended as a warning then yes, more details should be posted but as a simple vent to blow off steam, I don't see the reason for posting anything else.

However, the OP also mentions that they have apologised extensively, therefore conversations have been had. They then go on to say JL promise the earth (though as the data has been leaked, if they are aware of the fact and apologised - what more can be expected that doesn't involve a time machine) the only other conversation in such situations is compensation. What else is left?

JL is unlikely to do anything else other to confirm what measures they may undertake - solid details of any investigation is probably kept internal.

As a vent, yes it's blowing off steam, but its confusing on the details.

The OP could be venting about about a promotional offer going to an old address or their bank details being exposed to the world.
If a vent is a post on its own with no replies and no warning to anyone else to avoid/make informed choices.
Whats the point of the section?

A vent is simply "The release or expression of a strong emotion, energy, etc" and if the OP is peed off by the actions or inactions of the JL staff then coming on here as a release is them venting their anger or frustration.
As to there not being any point to it, where is it written in the forum rules that a vent needs a point or that it needs to be a warning to others?

Some people vent their frustrations by hitting a punching bag, some take it out on a rubber ball and others may simply scream.
If people wish to use a forum that is specifically called "Praise, vents and warnings" to get rid of their frustrations, what's wrong with that?

You can expect whatever you like but until you are a forum moderator, people are free to pick and choose exactly what information they give in their posts.

I do find it a bit odd how people choose to vent on a discussion forum then refuse to have any kind of discussion about it. They seemed almost offended at the fact that people wanted to talk about their issue on a discussion forum :rotfl:
It was a rant post! Dont want compo as someone suggested and dont want to give you lot any personal information! If you had read the rant properly you will see that I didnt ask any questions as I was having a right old moan.
