Anyone out there experience this?

Hi. I have a DFS sofa in leather and did not experience this. I would leave the sofa in the room with the doors closed and windows open for 24 hours. Did you speak to DFS at all about this? They were very helpful with me. 0808 149 7600 is the number and open 24 hours.0

I'll try the 24hr windows open, there's a fume, I guess that has to go0

You'd be useless in an epidemic wouldn't you?!
"ooh I don't have Spanish flu, I have an allergic reaction to the sofa I just bought from Dfs"
Not to dismiss your point per se, but maybe you should be more appreciative of other possible causes....0 -
I hear you all, but this is totally abnormal. Ie I do a lot of housekeeping jobs, we didn't eat anything different, this is a normal week with the only change being this sofa.
And now it's my wife complaining skin burning, it's been 24hours0 -
I have sore eyes, runny nose and burning skin (especially in my legs).
I have the "4 day" virus that most people I know see to have had in the last week or ten days.0 -
Could it be buyers remorsus? There's been a spate of it around here recently, with people affected by cars, furniture and gym memberships.
If not, I suspect it's a bug that's going round and the sofa timing is coincidental.0 -
Buyers remorsus... Could be, we like the sofa though, but how do you explain my first post that my baby got red eyes.0

There are a lot of colds and other illnesses going around at the moment, so there could well be a completely innocent explanation, but what have DFS said? They should be your first port of call if you think the sofa's emitting something it shouldn't.0 -
A few years back BBC Watchdog had a story whereby sachets of absorbent crystals ( I think) were being left in sofas and people were getting really sick.
Worth looking into, might be something to it.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
