Weird Sky Q Signal Issues

Assuming the above info regarding adverts from a different source is correct....
The picture has all the symptoms of a poor quality signal causing the intermittent
pixilation. Either the signal strength is low level, there is intermittent interference or a problem with the reciever (box).
It needs a bit of diagnostics to eliminate preferably starting with a signal strength measurement that the engineer should be able to do.
You might in the meantime see if any other users of the community feed are experiencing similar problems and that would point to a signal issue rather than receiver problem. That or lack of it could help the engineer find the fix.0 -
Well after a number of engineer visits over the last few weeks, we finally got to the bottom of the issue the other day!
The main multi-switch in the communal control room, was old and faulty. The engineer noticed that the power light was flicking on and off when it should have been constant, and we both came to the conclusion that it got worse in the evening when other residents are coming home and overloading the switch. He also suggested that the switch is about as old as the building, meaning it could potentially be 15 years old. But he was unable to replace it as it's down to the property management.
As I was the first resident in the block to get Sky Q, and another resident followed, the signal originally went to the switch and was then powered by a secondary PSU ,he's resolved the issue by installing a new switch, I think dedicated to Q, where the satellite feed goes through to there before the other multi-switch for those on older Sky services. And since installing, touch wood, my signal couldn't be better!
Still can't quite wrap my head around the Sky adverts working fine though :rotfl:0
