Orange - double minutes and double texts
As from 1st June, if you are with Orange they have an ad running offering double minutes and double texts on all their plans. The ad is quite clear but when you contact them there is a catch. To qualify you have to have got 10 months through your 12 month contract with them. They will then start you on a new contract with your existing handset at the doubled up rates. I took my existing contract out with them October 2004 and don't qualify for the deal until August if they are still ofering it then.
They admitted it was a plan to prevent migration to other operators.

Today I spoke to the Advertising Standards Authority about this advert. They told me they have received a number of complaints regarding the TV ad and they are looking into it.
They are also investigating the claims made in the newspaper ads.
