Apple warranty after one year
Hi,
I'm in the process of purchasing an apple iPhone at an apple store and was wondering what your advice would be about how to get 2 years of manufacturing warranty.
It seems I would need applecare+ to extend from 1 to 2 years warranty at the additional cost of 149.
but isn't an iPhone purchased at Apple uk covered by more than one year manufacturing warranty without the need for applecare+, here in the uk?
The reason why I'm opting for Apple over other stores such as John Lewis is the sweet 20 months 0% financing Apple provides.
Many thanks
Luca

Pretty often you have to threaten the supplier with court actions or even start these actions to enforce your rights.
That said, AFAIK manufacturer's warranty isn't enforceable at all.The reason why I'm opting for Apple over other stores such as John Lewis is the sweet 20 months 0% financing Apple provides.
And if credit is your only option for buying iPhone, you possibly simply can't afford this expensive toy.0 -
No it's not.
If bought from JL then JL cover the extra warranty NOT Apple.
They are also offering 3 years (total) on iPads currently.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

It is covered, but it's not a 'warranty' - Consumer Rights Armour

Nothing sweet really - given current interest rates. Many credit cards offer the same to new customers.

Thanks, I've opted for Apple with applecare+, more expensive but less hassle.
Going with finance in order to increase my credit rating, ironically enough I haven't incurred enough loans/mortages/debts in my life.0 -
I dont understand why people buy apple, its the most expensive brand and you have to pay an additional three figures for a 2 year warranty that other manufacturers offer as standard.0

Apple care and warranty are two completely different things. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Apple damaged OHs iPhone during battery replacement so replaced phone. The replacement started showing GPS and wifi problems after 11 months. Finally got round to a full software reset which didn't fix it at 13 months. Apple not only refused to look at it under any guarantee terms (apart from a free diagnostic test that failed to identify the issue), but told me they don't do antenna repairs at all.0

Not completely. It includes what, essentially, is extended warranty directly from the manufacturer and, I think, is the only way to get this warranty.
It is not extended warranty

You and Apple can call it whatever you like, but regardless of the name, part of it is essentially an extended warranty.0
