So - a little movement and a hopeful sign. I pointed out I had clear photos showing the serial number and tablet in good condition... I also had taken the same photos showing the same serial number but the tablet mangled. I also offered to allow them to keep the old tablet for parts. I was hoping that will show I was not looking at scamming them.

I also said if they were not interested in sorting this give me the solicitor address to serve (they had previously said their solicited has been instructed to defend them to whatever level I chose to engage).

All of a sudden ... they have asked for a few day to consider.

I have a tablet I was thinking of sending away for a £25 repair. Now I am worried it might be the same mob. Can you pm me the name of the firm pls?

I know it's annoying, but what is your loss here? You sent them a non working tablet and they have returned a non working tablet, albeit with further damage, but not sure this has devalued it any further.

Seems futile spending more money on the small claims process. Just get the refund from PayPal and move on.

This issue here is that it was a small repair. They also informed me that they had done this repair thereby making the tablet into a working device worth it's higher market value.

Even if they were unable to do the repair I could have claimed the refund and sent it to another place to get the repair redone. This is now no longer possible because of the damage they did.

    Yeha,

i did that. So many conflicting links so I was hoping soemone would have a link to a good one. The one that seems best is on the CAB web site so I guess I will go with that one.

I did try two local repair shops before sending it to e-bay ... belive me this was not my prefered option. Both places informed me they did not work on "off brand" devices so I was left with little to no option other than not get it repaired... I figured it was worth £20 to get it back in action...
