What is a Royal Mail customer service point?

Hi I'm looking to print a postage label on line. The parcel needs to be taken to a Royal Mail customer service point to be sent.

Is this my nearest Post Office?

Googling comes up with our local sorting office but that seems a bit daft.

From what I gather it is only the sorting offices and not post offices, my sorting office has the label printing machine installed now.

Go to https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you#/ and enter your postcode, refine the search to “Print prepaid postage label” and it should show you the delivery offices with the service.

    PS

You can also print the labels at home for convenience.

Thanks, just seemed a bit random really.
Have you ever used this service?
If so is it easy enough to do?
The prices seem greatly reduced so I'm tempted to give it a go but could do with someone showing me how.

I just print at home, though I’ve seen reports of people saying it’s really simple to do at the delivery office, you just need the barcode.

Why do you need to take it to a sorting office?

    Click and Drop

    https://parcel.royalmail.com/

"Sending a one-off, or a handful of items?
Simply enter a few details, choose a delivery option and print your postage in a couple of minutes.

    No sign up required
    Pay with card or PayPal
Postbox and Post Office® branch drop-off
    No minimum order"

I print off postage online when sending sold items through Ebay and take them to the local post office to get proof of postage.

Possibly because a post office is a "Point" where "Customers" can get "Royal Mail" "Services"?

Given the "Consignia" debacle of a few years back, and constant re-branding, including companies like airlines now referring to "passengers" as "customers" etc. I find it completely understandable why someone who doesn't use royal mail very often could be confused.

I use Royal Mail to post 2-3 parcels a week, and I would probably have had to google it to be sure had you not explained it.

In fact I just googled "royal mail customer service point near me" and ALL the results shown were listed as Delivery Offices... so why not just call it a bleedin' Delivery Office?!

    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

Because not all delivery offices offer CSP services........
Consignia, a few years back? That would be 18 years.
Post Office and RM were separated before that..

I still call mine the sorting office, as long as I know what I mean.

It still is. The CSP is the customer facing part of the building.
    People say it doesn't matter.
Yet every day people rock up at RM offices for Parcelforce, Post Office and various other random things.
If people started treating them as separate then it would sink in.

The argument that Post Office allow access to RM services doesn't really fly for me.
They also offer broadband, so is BT still Post Office?
Or forget it and call them all GPO?
