The mileage rate for business miles has been capped at 40p per mile for about a decade!!!
The below petition has been created to try and get a review of the rate, as it is now causing hardship for those who need to use their cars for business use.

Seeing as how the AA give the running costs less than 40p/mile for many combinations of mileage/car cost I can't see any justification for an increase.

Can you kindly provide us with the same set of AA figures from 10 years ago ?0 -
Errr, that table shows running costs for my car at 96p/mile based on doing 5000 business miles.0

why would they increase the rate cap when they're trying to reduce carbon emissions? People should be looking at using more eco friendly vehicles rather than trying to get more money. Also, if you go for a car with lower CO2 you'll pay less in benefit in kind tax.
If cars are getting more efficient (especially with Euro V emissions on the horizon) then your motoring costs should go down.matched betting: £879.63

I agree with the green policies for sure. However, I use my own private car for business use, hence I don't pay company car tax or anything. I drive a Passat TDI which is as green as you can get for a 4 year old estate!!! Whilst people should be encouraged out of the car, people who have to use their own car shouldn't have to subsidise their business journeys.0
