Standard supplier lock in period in return for cabling development for Fibre.

They don't HAVE to provide any.Apprentice2019 wrote: »Does anyone know if there are any rules that state what Broadband (Fibre) must/should be provided on new build estates?
You don't HAVE to buy the property, if it doesn't meet your requirements.
The estate will have been cabled by that provider, rather than OpenReach. Private infrastructure providers do not have to provide access to their infrastructure to other suppliers. Can they just provide one ISP that the developers happen to own and not allow access for anyone else?0 -
@Apprentice2019, we didn't either, but today I called BT and asked to speak to the Fibre team and explained the situation and they took the details from me and started the process off and they will be in touch with our Persimmon site and site manager to arrange putting the Openreach boxes in. They said it can take about 4 weeks, but we're not ready til June so it's no big problem for us.
