Switching

Hi all,

My tariff ends soon and i done a comparison on here to see if i could save money.

All looked good with pure planet rated top of that saving, so i decided to go for it. I had an email asking to verify details for the switch which i did and did not confirm this until i looked into it again to make sure. I noticed that it was not a fixed tariff, so i presume in the later date i could be worse off, so i am not happy about it. I have not proceeded to the switch with my details of dd etc, so i was going to go for EDF which was the second cheapest and it was fixed for the year.
I have noticed that the money club wont let me do this because it says switch in progress, which basically aint now. Any help on getting this sorted please so i can continue the switch on here?
Thanks

Have you actually contacted pp to cancel the switch?

If not then you need to.

It will take time to get cleared back to the CEC
  • i contacted that company to say i want to cancel, but like i said i have not confirmed the switch, only to verify myself. It takes you to their app where it says confirm it and set up dd details, but i have not done it.
  • can i just somehow get my switching options back?

You will be able to switch using another comparison site or direct with your chosen supplier

As advised it will eventually get cleared at the CEC

If you want to use CEC then check the FAQ for the CEC

This topic is covered, together with an email address you can use to ask for your account to be reset
  • Thanks. i looked for that but could not see the link.
  • Thanks for this, but can't see the contact address for cec?

Why bark yourself when you have a dog:rotfl:??

Have you actually read the FAQ on your problem??
  • Seen it thanks and emailed to be reset. Pure planet has confirmed all cancelled and just waiting on this now to re do it. EDF don't offer the same tariff as on here, so going to wait until all sorted.

I just have a general comment about energy switching because I am incensed that the energy companies always use estimated readings whether you have a full usage history or not. How are they getting away with this scam charging structure? Take the current situation. I am with Avro Energy and I am IN CREDIT with a full monthly meter reading history. I have asked them if I can switch on to their Simple and Wintersaving tariff in a few days and guess what! They will use a direct debit INCREASE based on ESTIMATED usage despite having my full history and being in credit. Its a damned outrage this energy billing. Are they legally able to insist on basing my new direct debit on estimated readings?
