If the OP was only quoting rough figures then there is this Hotpoint for £195:
https://www.very.co.uk/hotpoint-aquarius-tvfm70bgp-7kgnbspload-vented-tumble-dryer-white/1459873786.prd
and this one:
https://www.very.co.uk/hotpoint-tcfs83bgp-8-kg-condenser-sensor-tumble-dryer-white/1600340062.prd
for £3100 -

All the cheap ones are so obviously different than the more expensive ones you would have to be a blind fool to not tell the difference when it arrived. I'm calling shenanigans on the OP.
OP, exactly what tumble dryers are we talking here?0 -

However not noticing reciving a vented one rather than a condenser is impossible. Maybe OP would like to provide models for the nosey!0 -

They're completely different types of dryer, something you would've noticed from the outset, surely.0 -

Why would the OP ask for advice if they were trying to pull a fast one. It’s more likely that Very repacked the dryer in the wrong box.0 -

They would not take it out of the original MFG box to put it in an other one LOL
Sorry Op but your post is just a little far fetched? perhaps come back with actual model numbers of both dryers? then the sceptible amongst us will perhaps advise further? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -

It all depends on how many returns they receive.
As Very are a very large retailer, it's possible that they get a fair few returns due to a change of mind and they may unpack these returned items in order to inspect them and the incorrect repacking may have happened at this point.
I would have thought that the manufacturer of the drier would have a record of all the serial numbers for appliances delivered to each retailer so they should be able to confirm if the unit that the OP now has went to Very and if so, how long ago.0 -

Until (if) the OP returns and tells up exactly what they ordered and what was received, it's all guesswork and speculation anyway.0 -
If you like the cheaper one, why not ask them to refund the difference?
Very should be able to track the model numbers. Someone no doubt has the more expensive one in the cheaper box!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Highly possible this - I just had to return THREE machines in a row because the dial labels on the machine didnt match the program - the manual was correct! When you set it to 30min wash it took 1hr 57.
That was a Hoover branded machine0
