Roundabout accident - who’s at fault?
I was coming up a dual carriageway, overtaking the other car. We then reached the roundabout, she was in the left lane, I was in the right. I then went to go straight on into the right lane of the dual carriageway on the opposite side of the roundabout. Before we reached the turnoff, the car in the left lane hit into me, as if she was trying to either go into the right lane the upcoming dual carriageway, or go the whole way round the roundabout.
She is denying it was her fault, but couldn’t explain how it wasn’t her fault.
I have a diagram, but won’t let me upload 🙄

Unless you have dash cam footage, it'll probably go 50/50.0

At the end of the day it is both drivers duty to be aware of the possible actions of other road users.
You probably thought she was either turning left or going straight on in the left hand lane.
She probably thought you were turning right.
It will almost certainly go 50/50 as neither party was paying enough attention to the other.0 -

It sounds like she stayed in her lane and you cut across her to exit the roundabout?
If you change lanes, then you must make sure its clear.0 -
Sounds like it’s her fault. Were there any lane markings.0

What was the intended route of the yellow line?
If it were to continue clockwise, then 1st party has the greater liability (IMO), however as I wasn't there, then it would be prudent to go any beyond 50/50.
As mention in an earlier response, folk must consider the presence and possible actions of other road users.
The pride lost by navigating around the roundabout at that time , is far less than the messing about with an insurance claim on record.0 -
The lane markings are pretty clear that you're at fault.
The left hand lane (that the other driver was in) opens up into 2 lanes at the exit you wanted to take, so when they have exited, they then choose whether they go in the left lane, or the right lane once in the exit.
The lane makings for the lane you were in (right hand lane) show that your lane continues round the roundabout.
You have changed lanes to exit the roundabout.
You'll be lucky to get 50/50.

And keep going around and around0 -
I agree with FutureGirl. If that’s the correct roundabout and the exit in question, Jgraham98 is at fault because he changed lanes without checking.0
