in Credit cards
Hiya,
Anyone know when Santander started to charge interest on their All in one credit cards? I've been a select customer and have had the card for a number of years but I've just noticed that the last two months I've been charged around £3 in interest when I ALWAYS pay off the full balance by DD every month. Not happy! With that and the £3 fee it really isn't worth having and I'll just put more on my Barclay card and pay 0% interest.
Shame it was once upon a time worth banking with Santandar not really anymore!
cheers

The £3 monthly fee is stated in their advertising material.

Have you called them to ask? You should still have up to 56 days interest free. You already mention the £3 fee, and say around £3 in interest. No cash withdrawals? Was MFW#60 - mortgage paid off December 20210 -
It will be the monthly fee.
I’m guessing you’ve had the card over 6 months now:
Account fee
The fee for this card is £3 a month.
Account fee refund
We’ll refund the £3 monthly fee for the first 6 months if:
you’ve had the card for less than a year, and have activated it
you open or already have any of our qualifying 1l2l3 Current Accounts, Select Current Account or Private Current Account
you set up a monthly Direct Debit to pay your card from the current account within 30 days of opening the current account or credit card, whichever happens latest.0 -
nope its NOT the monthly fee that appears as £3 monthly fee on the statement, this says interest, one month its was £3 the other it was £3.280

Cash withdrawals?
Have you purchased any lottery tickets or made any gambling transactions?0 -
It must be cash withdrawals or cash type transactions.
If not you will have to call Santander and ask them. It could be an error of some sort.
Do your spending on your Barclaycard if you wish but you won't be getting any cashback so be sure that is what you actually want before you go closing the Santander card.0 -
no no cash withdraws tend to use google pay don't use cash much0
