Lainey, have a good day. Laura and I went a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.
TA, fingers crossed the sale goes through smoothly.
Steve is still very up and down, his temp was 38.9 at midnight and he wasn't well at all so I ended up staying awake till 2am until he was cooler and more settled. His temp was down this morning but he had a bad headache so took co-codamol and is now feeling better. If he goes downhill again I shall ring the helpline to see what they say. He's lost about 9lbs in the last couple of weeks (he wasn't fat before).
I'm sorry I have a one rack mind atm. I want to make him a curly-whirly cake for his birthday, it's a firm family favourite. I also need to sort out the dining room table so we can eat round it tomorrow, it's got all my sewing paraphernalia on it.0 -
Morning all
It's still breezy but at least the sun is trying to show itself.
Today I want to dust and hoover through downstairs, talk to Mr Fix It nicely as I need the kitchen floor steamed, finish off the photo cull ( now down to half a box :j ) and fill a cs bag like Nelski for Monday. I have enough cs stuff ready and waiting in the office, so I need to sort through that. There's about 4 bags ready to go, but as there is no parking near any of our cs shops and we can't lug it any distance, I was gathering stuff up and then I will ring for a collection at some point. I didn't realise how much unwanted/unnecessary stuff there was in cupboards and drawers  ( and I ain't finished yet
)
I will have to have a freezer check too as I've forgotten what's in them ........... again :rotfl:. Might find something different for tea, as I'm also in a bit of a cooking rut...... Now where's my chef ?
Before I do anything remotely houseworkey, I'd better feed the birds as they are patiently waiting on the patio.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday. Take care all

Morning everyone
Had a busy morning and now just having a quick cuppa before I get the bus into town to meet eldest DD off the train from London. She's home till Tuesday morning and then moves to Sweden on Wednesday. We're going out for lunch and then I've got to go down to youngest DDs this afternoon to deliver some cooking I've done for her and do her ironing. I was feeling guilty I couldn't go to see baby in the hospital today, but I've woken up with another cold...so couldn't have gone anyway.
I was there on Wednesday...she had to have another blood transfusion as she wasn't making red blood cells ...she perked up as soon as she had it. She was moved out of her incubator into a cot yesterday as she can now regulate her temperature...so she is now wearing clothes rather than just a vest! I'll visit again next Wednesday and then it's half-term the next week so I'll get more visits.
Well I'd better get moving...hope everyone has a good day. The wind is howling here too and has been since yesterday, but no rain0 -
Morning all
Windy here too but nice and bright though, when we got in from work last night I went in the bedroom and heard a banging outside, I looked out to see the guttering had come away from the house and was banging, Lovely OH had to climb out on the conservatory roof and up the small utility roof to fix it he got a face full of icy water for his troubleshe fixed it though and got straight in the bath after, Im very glad because he could have slept through the banging but it would have driven me mad !!
Not a lot on today will go shopping with dd then on to see my sister for an hour then home for a film or a nap, nice dinner tonight of some kind I need to buy it today.
I too have no idea what a liberty bodice is ??? off to google it.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning! I woke up at eight but have been just sitting round, coming to, and drinking tea. Will watch Nelski's boyfriend in a bit on catch up when OH goes out to play with his friends...
Todays medical news is that I have developed a seroma, so now I have a water bed on my chest....It's quite entertaining to poke it and watch it flubble about.
No plans today, read a book, watch a film, that kind of thing, but I'm going to need a bigger milk bottle, otherwise my tea comsumption is going to get to zero and as I run on tea at the moment, that's not good. I think a bacon sarnie is also in my future...Or maybe a bacon and egg one...BBL, the frying pan is calling...
snoozer, you can't do everything, can you farm out some chores? csarina, huzzah for not may drops left. good to hear the horses are clear lainey, mehefin. SO, yes, a big cake, hopefully one that sticks teeth together so she has an excuse for not talking, hope it goes well...nmlc, I'm with you on better quality, I want to go to a particular butcher shop but it's too far for me to go yet, and I'm salivating at the thought of a lamb roast now....Hope your house is dry Gers. AOD so Tidy Friday didn't last into SoWhat Saturday then?nanny, look at you go, your house will be empty before long! TA, good news on the neighbours. Wotcha Poppy, tru. dumpling, are you better? Holly, hope you haven't been swallowed by wardrobe.

We have tickets for the Strictly tour for tonight so plan to travel down to London this afternoon, will do us a main meal at lunchtime
.
Glad that you had such a lovely birthday JackieO
The first record I bought was Elvis Presley's Hound Dog and I didn't even own a record player back then, and would carry it to my friends house to play:):) I still like fifties /sixties music in preference to today's and it always makes me smile
Well, managed to get all of my food shopping needed for £18.90 this morning, which I am pleased about, so no more shopping for me for at least 10-12 days Using up even more stuff from the freezer this month.
The sun is out in north Kent, and although pretty windy, its at least reasonably warm for the time of year, and dry which is even better.
Hope everyone has a good day today I am out to dinner tonight at my friends so soup and cheese and crackers for lunch for me.
Tomorrow I shall be at Dds for dinner so not a lot of cooking needed this weekend at all I may make a fruit cake for the boys though as my DGS do like a chunk of fruit cake in their packed lunches for school
Have a good weekend chums what ever you are doing and keep warm and dry if you can
JackieO xx0 -

Afternoon all. Well I braved the elements after all and nearly took off going to the bus stop this morning! Town was fairly quiet. Unusual for a Saturday.
I got my odds and sods from the £shop and then headed for the discount food store. Sadly the cooking bacon looked rather fatty so I passed on that. But I did get a few other very good bargains so not an entirely wasted trip. Chuffed to find they are still selling the Dole frozen raspberries 2 bags for £1. So added more to my stash in the freezer! I go through vast amounts on porridge, yogurt etc.
There's another of my favourite old films on shortly - Jane Eyre - so I am turning a blind eye to all the DGDs bedding waiting to be ironed and will get my feet up instead and watch that. I don't know why these film-makers persist in making re-makes when they can never better the original!
Have a nice afternoon folks and TAFF hope you soon pick up. Hope SNOOZER's STEVE keeps well for his birthday and can enjoy his cake. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good afternoon everyone :hello:
I'm alive! I got woken by the wind howling around the windows but I didn't mind as I felt so much better thank goodness. Thank you for all the concern, I do understand that I should have rung my doctor but I am very very stubborn (who said pig-headed) when it comes to my determination not to go to hospital again. I am trying to avoid him as well as I cancelled my xray appointment and I am afraid he will be cross. Honestly, he is a lovely GP, I do tend to catastrophise
:o.
Anyway, I feel so happy to be back in the land of the living. My family have been brilliant and have taken really great care of me, bringing me unlimited tea and listening to my moaning and groaning :rotfl:. I would like to do something nice to show my appreciation, I will have to put my thinking cap on.
Steve is making comedy hotdogs tonight, so called as the sausage extends a good few inches each side of the bunand my appetite is back finally so I am going to have two
. There are always a few left over as well so the dogs are in for a treat tonight.
Snoozer, I really hope your Steve is well for his birthday and the cake sounds lovely xx
taff, I had to google seroma, it sounds ummm interesting. Will you get it drained off or will the fluid absorb back into your body? Anyway, hope you are feeling ok, you sound very chipper but it's not always that easy is it xx
TA, lovely news about your neighbours to be, it must be a big relief xx
JackieO, belated birthday wishes to you lovely lady, glad you were spoilt rotten by your family xx
dp1, great news that your grand daughter is now in a cot and can wear clothes, just shows how she is progressing. I am sure you will have lots of lovely cuddles next week xx
Organza, I am with you on the liberty bodice :rotfl::rotfl:, naughty puppy though, I bet your son wasn't too pleased xx
bozwood, I know what you mean about the never ending washing, I don't know where it all comes from, as soon as the basket is empty I blink and it's filled up again! xx
Gers, hope your home is in one piece and you get to enjoy the peace xx
I am enjoying a bit of time online and then I am in the middle of knitting a chicken which holds chocolate eggs in her wings. It makes a change from the little fluffy chicks I have been making. Tomorrow I shall marshall the troops and get this house cleaned up as it has certainly slipped a bit. I have people coming to the house on Monday for various appointments so I will feel more confident if the place is clean and tidy.
Hope you all enjoy this wild and windy weekend, take care xx0 -
Afternoon folks. Just delurking to say TA could you post your lentil and bacon soup recipe again. Pretty please? I have been scrolling back through the dailies but can't find it. It sounded so rasty. Thanks
Gosh delurking twice in a couple of days.....might have to start posting on here regularly again lol"It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world"0
