the sky is in my sons name, he has broadband and sky q and full tv package which he took out 6 months ago for 18 months at a cost of £101 per month (before we knew of case).
he has been convicted of an offence and is awaiting sentence (likely to be 3 years) im not looking for sympathy just some sort of advice or solution, he has paid sky consistently over the past number of years as he has always been in employment, but wont be able to pay them after this.
can someone please give me some guidance as to how i can sort this out, i dont want the package, i dont have sky tv as i dont watch all of those channels and couldnt afford it anyway.
thank you for any help at this difficult time

He would need to call them, I can imagine they will want the contract paid up so you can go elsewhere and take out a contract you would use (if you wish).0 -
You are not liable for his debts in general, if you have acted as a guarantor for something then you are liable for that only. If he is sent to prison then you simply tell Sky and you have no intention of taking it over. They cannot make you. If they want the router/set top box tell them to collect it.0

Is he on remand? Can he not call them himself and give notice? Or authorise Sky to discuss the account with you?
Imprisonment does not void the contract, so unless it is terminated he will continue to be billed for it,No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I should have made clear earlier that he does not reside at our house but has his own place.
no he's not on remand at present, i am trying to get a sense of things before i get him to speak to them and try and get a solution to the situation.
last thing we need is a bill coming in for something that wont be used
Thank you to all who have contributed so far, much appreciated0
