just got my V11 and it says:
Option1: Taxing your vehicle
6 months =
12 months =
Pay by Monthly Direct debit =
and is smallish print at the bottom it says "Tax online" There is no fee for paying by debit card but there is a charge of £2.50 for paying by any other type of card0 -
They are definitely NOT. I paid my tax about ten days ago by credit card and no fee. None. Zilch.0

I suspect DVLA is trying to save costs by using up old stationery which still carries the surcharge warning. When that has all been used, they'll use new forms that don't have the wording.0

you might have a point there, I will examine my credit card statement carefully when it comes, it should therefore say £195 not £197.50 then0
