Ebay return

So I collected an item from a seller.

I raised a case with ebay that it was not as described.

Ebay took 8 minutes to decide in my favor!

Now it says I need to POST the item back to him for tracking! and then I will get a refund!
Print a return postage label or get your own and add tracking details within 7 days of dispatching the item. We'll send a refund when tracking shows that the item has been delivered.

What do I do?

value is about £70

a. return it myself. That was the plan.
b. return it and also send an empty enevlope for tracking reasons
c. get a cheap courier to return it! gonna cost !

I was hoping to return it tomorrow!

P.S He hasn't been very nice in his messages and trying to trick me into closing the case., so I don't mind playing the game

What's the issue with the item? If it wasn't something you could see when you collected, fair enough - but I can see why the seller would be miffed if you should have spotted it.

If the item is SNAD, isn't the seller required to provide an appropriate means of return (e.g. a courier label)?

It's not really relevant, as ebay decided in my favor and I would like to know how to return it and ensure I get a refund, knowing this guy would quite happy say it hasn't been returned it.

I had paid by paypal in advance, and the seller wasn't there (he left it out for me). So I thought I kind of had to take it and try and resolve things later.

Read the email more and it says (so it will have to be posted)

You must post the item back to the seller to be eligible for a refund. You can either print the label on eBay from the Resolution Centre or use your own label and add the tracking information to your case in the Resolution Centre. If you use your own label, you may not be refunded for the return postage. Once the item has been returned to the seller, you will be issued a refund. The seller's address and delivery instructions are available in the Resolution Centre. Please remember to submit your tracking information by (10 days time)

So the ebay return label states

    "Weight: 0 - 2 kg"

I think it is more than this. What a nightmare

Packages weighing more than 20kg cannot be accepted at the Post Office.

Best thing may have been to have inspected the item before you paid the seller for it and accepted it but appreciate its a bit late for that now.

Ask ebay what to do next, advise them the return postage method is not correct for the weight of the item.

I am not sure if I understand you.

You THINK it weighs more than 2kg?

Do you THINK it weighs more than 20kg?

I have only collected 2 items. In both cases they have stated paypal payment up front, prior to collection.
I think using paypal increases chances of refund/protection

I will weight the item today, and let ebay know the weight.

Yes it is more than 2Kg for sure.

You ask for peoples help yet are being evasive with details.

Great way to endear yourself to a forum when canvassing for help.
