Why is it ironic? Tesco Mobile have been cheaper than 02 for as long as I can remember. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Why not just take the deal from Tesco? Saves all the faff and haggling, plus it’s the same network anyway...I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

I wouldn't sign up with Tesco yet, while the last month of the O2 contract has to be paid for anyway. Meanwhile in a few days when Steve phones O2 for his PAC (assuming he wants to keep his number), they will ask what he's moving to and either make an offer to match it or not. If they do, it's even simpler than switching to Tesco. If not then make the move, use the PAC.Why not just take the deal from Tesco?
