Will neighbours extension lower value of my house?

Like the fence, nice touch, keeps a bit of private space on your side.1

I've sold and am in the process of moving, everything being delayed because of Covid.Abbafan1972 said:@harasnrubdoow Sorry to revive this thread.
Have you successfully managed to sell and move on now? Somebody linked this thread in another one about a privacy issue, which is how I found it.
The neighbours have actually put boards up on their side, I think the windows were getting condensation because it's essentially where their dogs live and because it's tacked onto the back of their kitchen, their kitchen has no ventillation other than the window into that room so it probably was a bit uncomfortable for them.
I added supports to the fence to make sure the wind didn't catch it, it's solid as a wall now, and I added fairy lights and faux plants just coz I fancied it (don't do it. Spiders).
Privacy restored, I now can go out my backdoor and walk through my kitchen without being glared at through giant windows and it's been an utter relief to be honest, I don't know how I coped so long with it before (well probably naivety, I was v young when I bought this house).
EDITED TO ADD: no dispute, they were incredibly rude to my Dad while he was putting it up (saying he was drilling into their wall, he was drilling into the floor) but no dispute. The council also sent me a letter effectively telling me I didn't need permission to put up the fence and that they could see no reason why it wasn't fine so I've got that to give to the buyer.

Thank you for coming back with an update - nice to know how things turn out. Good luck with your move and enjoy your new home.2

I agree. I think the fence looks fine, certainly better than those intrusive windows!ameliarate said:
Doesn’t make me think neighbour dispute. The fence looks fine to me and solves the problem. Sorted.AdrianC said:
Nothing screams "Neighbour dispute ahoy!" than viewing a property and finding that setup in the back garden... Viewers won't be walking away, they'll be running.harasnrubdoow said:Thanks for all the suggestions etc. the fence makes me a lot more comfortable and I'm confident it will help my sale when the time eventually comes.

The windows in the extension are definitely odd - but they have also clearly been there for a very long time. I have to admit, I struggle with "But the blinds were always down..." - it was always possible that people would change their habits, perhaps new occupants would move in.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton1
