Where's your sense of adventure? Just nuke it in the microwave, it'll be fine. Probably has hardly any meat in it anyway.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »True but 3 days past the use by date might be pushing it a bit for something containing meat if it was just chilled and not a frozen product.0 -
Was the best before date not obvious on the packaging? because that is a problem.
Other than that, you bought something out of date, you didn't notice, the shop staff didn't notice and nobody died.0 -

Allegedly not. They never claimed to be in the first place though.0 -

I had this happen once...
A local food outlet regularly stocked food items in their vending machines but weren't proactive in checking the items regularly. It was often the case that the "use by" date was exceeded, sometimes by 3-4 days.
I complained to the vendor a few times about this (I regularly saw people buying and eating said items). They ignored me (they stated that I was mistaken and had mis-read the "best before" label).
I then reported them to the local regulatory body. They very swiftly corrected the problem when a "random" check was conducted by the regulatory body.
I also once had a problem exchanging an out-of-date can of pepsi with this vendor as they accused me of switching cans! Like I'd be bothered going through the trouble of that!
Moral of the story is, go and get your refund/replacement if the item has exceeded the "use by" date and give them hell IF they give you some hassle. AND don't shy away from considering reporting them to any local regulatory body too, because it does help other people who may buy said food items without realising.0
