Thanks for the reply. He has decided that 1300 miles is too far to drive and it would be better to fly, and use public transport or hire a car if he needs one when his girlfriend come out to visit!

Where in Sweden's he going to be? One of the bigger cities, I guess? Public transport is a LOT better than here...

Young uns these days, just no stamina. :rotfl: I took my MX5 on a 2000 mile round trip over 4 days to go see a bridge in France. Did return journey in one hit only stopping for fuel and Eurotunnel.

Saying that though 1300 miles with the constant drone off off road tyres wouldn't be my idea of fun either.

I used to drive from the uk to Gothenburg, Sweden every few weeks.I would get your son to get something like a tomtom.I would head for Hamburg then up into Denmark before crossing into Sweden via the long Toll bridge.

Not necessarily, they must be manufactured for Winter conditions, some M&S tyres are not. If they have the 3 peaks & snowflake symbol they are Winter tyres.

Who'd have thought they make special tyres for Snowflakes? :)

Who would not think that? The issue is here in the UK we will have the wrong type of snowflake for those tyres :)
