Nels I am defo up for a meet in Brighton :jin the summer anyone else ?? Candy ? it would be lovely to put some names to faces x

Yes, I'm up for this as well. It isn't too difficult to get to Brighton from here :)
  • Morning all

Thanks for the thread Dumpling and I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling, hugs to all those in need.

It's raining here, we have therapy gym this morning and CHS is helping a neighbour to taake their boat for a pumpout this afternoon.

I went to empty the shed at my house yesterday only to find that the tenant has nicked the fridge freezer, lawn mower, strimmer and gardening tools, I know i can claim money back from her deposit but I could really do without anymore carp in my life at the moment, it's hard enough caring for CHS without this being dumped on me as well.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

SO, I get very cross on your behalf. Do you have any sort of relationship with her mother. I'd be tempted to bump into her and say how disappointed you are not to see your grandson more, without saying that you know she sees him most weeks.

I could do a meet up in Brighton. We have direct trains from here so wouldn't even have to change in London.

Steve is much better, his temp was just a shade over normal all day yesterday and is now normal so it looks like whatever infection he had is gone. I had to keep him reined in so he didn't do too much and we went for a very short walk round the block, which he was quite cross about but I stood firm.

Laura's feeling quite stressed, she has exams on Friday and she puts a lot of pressure on herself. She's the classic girl complaining that she knows nothing and then always scoring very highly. She works very hard. To cap it all Ziggy has another ear infection so she has to go to the vet again.

I started a new quilt last night, the first time I have been able to plan and sew for over two weeks so I want to finish cutting the fabric for that today. I also want to clean the main bathroom and finish tidying the guest room for Steve's sister who is coming on Sunday. She is staying at Laura's from Friday and we were supposed to be going for a meal and the theatre on Saturday (it's Steve's birthday on Friday) but I've said we won't go because I don't want Steve exposed to infection.

Dumpling, I'm sorry you are struggling, I agree with TA, ask your Dr if he can arrange transport. Or what about contacting your mental health support to see if they can help.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Hester that is awful, do you have a photo or a inventory with all the equipment that was in the shed. Afraid I would report her to the police. Thieving little s**t.

Bad day yesterday had several episodes of stomach pain, so phoned the Dr. He left a script for me. I had to drive down to the chemist in the dark to get it. OK so far this morning.

I have decided I need to cut down on carbs a bit, my clothes are getting tight, I really do not want to be putting any more weight on, it will not do my spine and hips much good. I am going to have to start making crustless quiche as well. Need to look for a recipe.

Coffee morning at the little chapel. Our friend rang last night to find out if we were going. They have had to scrap the vehicle they had fitted out for their travels as preachers. Apparently they have bought a new to them van but it has to be fitted out. They are not going on their travels until the middle of March.

SO .....sorry to hear you have continuing problems with you DIL, such a shame, afraid the old saying is only too true in a lot of cases.

Dumpling....... we have a voluntary service here where you can book a driver & car for a hospital visit, have you anything like that locally?

We seem to have had a lot of rain during the night, its bright and sunny now. Am going to risk hanging a small load of laundry out on the line. I had to soak the shower curtain, the bottom was disgusting, hopefully the Lidl washing powder will have done its job.

Frittata tonight, so salad with it and banana for dessert.

We are polite when we meet, which strangely isn't very often. She must realise the situation as we didn't get an invite to the restaurant for DGS's birthday meal, she did.

I think I may just send a message to say they are always welcome and leave it at that.

Morning! Super early for me, woke up at half seven, or was woken up, but hey ho, the sofa is for napping later. Fire to clean and get ready for lighting later. Have a friend coming round today with soup for dinner, so we'll have a catch up.
Had another couple of friends round last night and I know that she does this sometimes but was really annoyed, on her behalf, that she spends time telling herself how awful she is. I really wish people wouldn't do that to themselves, I know you can't just snap out of it and everyone has a little bit of it in there somehwere but to spend your life intermittently telling yourself you are bad/look awful/are useless is just such a waste of time. I wish I could get her to see herelf through my eyes. There's absolutely nothing wrong with her, she's funny, loyal, pretty, intelligent and has a job where she patches people up, which can't be easy with some of the patients she gets. I'm going to have to taff-bomb her....:)
Have been googling nice looking veg gardens, and I will be doing raised or edged beds, so as long as they are edged with something like willow, or stone, or brick, it won't look too allotmenty, especially if I put in some meandering paths and a couple of chairs/somewhere to sit with a few different floor surfaces [ I don't want grass, it's full of mares tail and bindweed] Still have to finishthe porch but that can wait until my arm is better and more wood has been burned.
Right, onwards and upwards [don't know why though, it's not like I'm super busy!:) ]

dumpling, can you get a lift off someone? Can you tap up the annoying woman for a lift being as she seems to have so much time to go gallivanting? Holly, might it seem like a major task because it's too much to do? Relax, go watch a film, do something fun! Are there any Meet Up groups in your area doing things you like doing? There's one here that goes to watch a film then has a get together afterwards. Nelski, good luck shopping, you might want to make it two bottles :) SO, they sound like a right pair...I'm on a mission to encourage people to go out and meet people today it seems...got any local support groups? Is there a female version of Mens Sheds? OL, happy future birthday, well done on getting something you don't want.?!?! Happy peripatetic TA :) Hester, knew there would be something after you wrote about her....snoozer, good to hear steve has improved, good call on the avoiding infection...have you got any local restaurants that do takeaways so you could always have a full blown meal in the house which doesn't feel like a chore? AOD, you be careful you don't go all puppy and wee with excitement :)
    Bountiful Wednesday everyone!

    Morning all,
Sorry to hear you are struggling dumpling.Hope you manage to get to your appointment. I sympathise with the squabbling,DH & DS2 argue a lot.It doesn't help that DS2 works with him, they don't get much of a break from each other.Really hoping that ds house renovations will be finished this summer! DS1 and myself are more alike,a lot quieter and peace loving :)
AOD - ah mess goblins, yes I have 3 of those ,not counting the messy imps DGC,well mainly DGD.
Snoozer Glad to hear Steve is feeling better,I bet it did him good to get out for a walk.
Holly, dont do too much at the supermarket,or you Nelski ;)
SO- I do feel for you ,I sometimes complain that our 2 GC are here a lot of the time but I know I am lucky really and once DS2 does move into his house we won't see them as much x
Sorry to hear about your stolen items HH

Ate my hm yogurt with some nuts earlier ( done in the instant pot) I think I strained it too long ,it was very thick & I added some of the whey back and gave it a good stir.Very nice too.Might make some scones as theyre meant to be good using the leftover whey.Need something easy for tea as picking DGS up from school
Time for a coffee, have the best day you can xx

    Afternoon all:D
I'd love nothing more than to come to Brighton, but Zeus extensive surgery, hospitalization, n this extortionate fire saga have skinted me :(
I'm sick n tired, of feeling dragged down, by health n money worries. The fire part has arrived,n is supposedly being fitted this afternoon, but it's been a long week of feeling cold n frustrated, at the shoddiness of this firm, who I will name n shame when the job's done!
    I know it's a 1st world problem , but my health suffers if I'm cold , as I have asthma n ostoearthritis:(
NELS, I hope the car stuff isn't too expensive, n Mother behaves ;)
HESTER I can't believe the cheek of your tenant:eek:
    OL that's so sad:(
Huggles to all the poorlies n peed offs today :A xx
