So I opened my A4 Letter This evening (too late to ring now) which contains all my Statements (For all my accounts) which I usually get each month

I found that 2 of my account statements are missing and got someone else's statements who live in luton so can see all there details etc

How can I get my missing statements back (Don't want copies or black & white versions)

I am worried that someone else has seen my details

So what should I do here? Can I complain?

Contact Barclays and tell them what's happened, I'm sure they'll be able to reissue the missing pages.

On the face of it, the erroneous mailing of papers is a breach of their obligations under the Data Protection Act, certainly as far as you seeing someone else's statements is concerned. In terms of what happened to your original missing pages, chances are that they'd have been mixed up with someone else's but it will no doubt have been inadvertent during the automated generation and mailing of tens or hundreds of thousands of pieces of paper, so I doubt they'd be able to definitively identify where they went, never mind actually reunite you with them!

My wife complains that I have switched to online statements but I tell her that postal statements are far less secure. Your problem highlights this fact.

However - no system is perfect. Life is full of calculated risks.

Rung them told to go branch to show them what’s happened..

They should forward other persons statements on,

Mine have either gone in a Envelope with someone else’s or will come in diffeent envelope,

The pages I got are usally the ones at the back & pages I am missing are usally at the front of envelope

    Will see what happens

    No, as per https://www.gov.uk/data-protection:
The Data Protection Act 2018 is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
so, while this latest iteration of DPA was enacted to comply with the EU-wide harmonised regulations, DPA itself remains the UK's legislation in this area....

What should I do if it happens again? is it worth complaining or not?

Are my Details going to be safe?

Will my missing pages be sent to me (if returned to a branch or person sends them) or will they be shredded due to GDPR etc...

hard to say if your details will be safe, given you don't know if they have been sent to someone else or simply not printed. & if they have gone to someone else you don't know what they will do with them.

You do have grounds to complain, and the payout on Data Protection breaches normally get compensated quite well. It's your decision if you want to take that route. How worried are you?

Is there a reason you need paper statements each month? that's a lot of paper.

In your shoes I'd complain to Barclays via their published complaints procedure, explaining that you believe that there has been at least one breach of the Data Protection Act (other customer's data sent to you) and possibly two (if your data has been sent elsewhere). It's not unreasonable for you to ask what's happened and to seek assurances that it won't happen again - chances are that it'll be impractical for them to trace exactly what went wrong though, but if you've logged it as a complaint this time round then it puts you in a stronger position if there was another breach in future.

IMHO it's unlikely that if someone else received some of your data that they'd be able to do much damage with it, but again, making sure that you've logged it as a complaint would strengthen your case against the bank if there was some sort of ID theft problem.

That's a question for the bank.
