We took care of our house's repair for a year, and I told my wife that the last element we would install would be the house sign. It was not a difficult choice because I knew from the beginning that we wanted something modern without a complicated design; I just didn't know exactly what we wanted it to look like.

I'd suggest that you go for something fitting to the house. Nothing worse than a shiny brushed chrome sign with modern blue-tone lighting on an old house.
Personally for my 60s house I went for an oval ceramic sign and had my Mum print out a vinyl sticker on her Cricut to my personal taste (number, street name, and a bird).0
