            Two EAs (same company) gave slightly different reasons for why they’re moving.
 Ask 5 different people (2 EAs, the husband, the wife and the neighbour) why the family is moving...
 ... and you'll probably get 7 different answers.
 (If my EA asked me why I was moving, inside I might be thinking "it's none of your business" - but I'd probably make up a neutral, plausible answer.)0

            They've probably spent about £20k max tarting it up and are now looking to 'flip' it for a juicy £40k profit. (Based on the profit margins most of the 'flippers' in my area seem to feel they're entitled to)
 So you just have to ask yourself is the current asking price a fair and realistic price and are you prepared to reward them so handsomely for the improvements they have made?
 A house a few doors down from me sold about 18 months ago. They guy spent quite a bit of time "renovating" and generally tarting up. Now back on the market for £100K more than he paid and about £70K over typical prices for the area. He is going to get his fingers severely burnt...Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

            Beware of relying on the previous photos on RM. I know of somebody who is selling their house due to relationship breakdown. The previous photos on RM are not the ones from when they bought, but are the ones from the sale prior to their purchase. The difference in the photos from then to now is much more marked and makes it look like they've done much more work than they actually have....... and there's a considerable markup in price.....Make £2025 in 2025

            Its very easy to spend £50k on a modernisation of a dated property...I did so the cost increase wouldn't bother me initially nor would the fact that they now wish to move on.
 What you need to make sure as the purchaser is that the work has been done well and any survey you have values it at the price you are paying.
 There are people who do tart up properties as another poster has said,but that type of thing should be identified at survey level...
 Quite often you see somewhere where the internals look good but they forgot the electrics or the roof for examplein S 38 T 2 F 50

            Paranoid or justified... I was in a similar situation and turns out I was justified. There were big problems with the next door neighbours. The vendors had only been in the house for a year, so that was a bit more suspicious I guess.
 Just do your due diligence, as you would on any property, and you'll be fine. Eg: I checked crime stats for the road, spoke to other neighbours, and walked by at different times of the day0

            My mothers partner died, she needed to downsize and relocated to my house.
 So EA 1 could say the owner died
 EA 2 could say the owner relocated
 EA 3 could say the owner downsized
 All three would be true

 I struggle to understand how a probable lack of buyers is anything remotely like being severly burned
 To remedy this he just needs to drop the price
 £30K for a bit of time seems a good outcome0
