This is for my car insurance.
So I passed my driving test 13 months ago but then got a driving ban for 9 months. I have now got my license back and am looking to do my car insurance. But i dont know whether to say I have held my license for 1 year 1 month or just 4 months? There is quite a price difference.

I think being banned for longer than you've been on the road will make an even bigger difference.0

Thanks but this isn’t very helpful0

You've held it 13 months and no doubt your ban will be there for the next 11 years.0

I would say 13 months, I passed in 1980, it says so you the back of the licence0

You are within the first 2 years of your licence. Can you explain how you got a ban, and not a revoked licence?
The courts are specifically told not to ban drivers within the first 2 years, as this would be a way to cheat the revocation law.0 -

Getting caught for an offence where conviction is a ban rather than points would would do it.0 -
I got a 12 month ban and 0 points. You have to get 6 points in the first 2 years for the new drivers act0

What was the ban for? You say 9 months and then say 12 months. Which? If it was drink driving there is no 6 month alternative.
Expect eye-wateringly high premiums from those who will quote. You might be better of using a specialist broker0 -
Wow, hope you have deep pockets.0

Ouch that jaunt will cost you dear for about 10 years. Many of us do silly things. Sometimes we get away with them sometimes not.0
