Irritation with Google photos

Rumrat. One other question. Before you'd tipped me off about achieving as I go along, there are many which I placed in albums and they're still in "photos", duplicated. In a perfect world I will highlight and send to archive, but what if there are some not in albums?.
I wonder what would happen if I highlighted them to send to an album and they're already there, would I be notified that they are duplicates. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
i don't create albums or label any photos as not enough hours in the day. I just let google photos do its thing as the search function is pretty good at bringing up the photos you want to view again"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

It looks like its now acting like "labels" in gmail.
Pro: you can now have one photo in multiple albums (eg your 2018 holiday photos can be in..er.."2018 Holiday" album but also in a "nameOfCountry" folder(along with previous years visits) and some in a "landscapes" folder & some in a "family" folder etc assuming you're anally retentive enough to want to categorise your pictures to that level of detail
Con: you sill have a big bag of mixed folders, #firstWorldProblems0 -

They aren't duplicated - there's still only 1 photo taking up storage space - its just a database search that sorts them in a different way0 -
Thanks all of you. I've sat several hours today, sending a dozen or so at a time to various albums. Just noticed that in some albums, the total number is not increasing. I am hoping that it is recognising some are duplicates and as such, is not increasing, would that be right?.
PS, I think that's it. On some albums that have NOT increased, ie cyprus hols, wedding, I have deliberately sent a photo which should not be there and it has arrived and the number increased. Any comments?
PPS, I think I may be the route of problems here. There are times when I take a photo, then crop or change effects so may end up with more than one of the same photo, hence when I move them, it identifies multiple of the one photo. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I think you have got the idea now....;) As others have suggested though, you can use the search facility to find any photos (whether in albums or not).....Give it a try, type in a location and it should find all the photos taken there, for instance.
Also note that you can unarchive any photos at any time, or add individual photos to an album from within the archive.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
