Help!
I hope someone can help me please.
I have previously submitted a PPI claim through the Resolver site against Shop Direct it has highlighted I did have PPI but I’ve had no response from them.
After the 8 weeks I highlighted to the Financial Ombusdman through the site itself but I’ve now had a letter back to say they are unable to intervene due to the timescales.
Does anyone have any advice on where I go from here?
Thanks in advance

You need to post the full details of the letter and the exact wording, it might be time barred or somethingSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

It sounds like they weren't regulated at the time you took the card out which is why the ombudsman can't intervene. If that is the case, then your complaint is over.
Best thing to do is contact Shop Direct directly, and forget about resolver. They may not have received the complaint.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

What timescales are they referring to?
Is it because it is pre-regulation?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I’ve just dug our the letter - it says ‘because your PPI policy was sold to you before 14 January 2005’.0

That makes it pre-regulation. So, its game over.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I don't understand the lenders response. Can someone explain because my Littlewood's/SHOP DIRECT ppi complaint was upheld by Barclays Bank four years ago and it was sold before 2005?0

Barclays Bank were certainly regulated (by an earlier body) prior to 2005. Littlewood's were not.Can someone explain because my Littlewood's/SHOP DIRECT ppi complaint was upheld by Barclays Bank four years ago and it was sold before 2005?

Possible they didn't notice, possible they auto-pay, possible they decided they had liability, who knows. If the lender has used pre-regulation then your complaint is over.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

However, why did Barclays refund your Shop Direct PPI?
A claims handler who said Barclays were liable called me at home to discuss my complaint. Ten weeks later I received a full refund of all ppi premiums plus interest because they had records of all the transactions on my Shop Direct/Littlewoods:rotfl: help account.0
