Wanting to keep UK credit history whilst moving abroad

Hi
I’ve an opportunity to move to Sydney for initially 2 years and depending on how that goes I will either look to put down roots there or come back here.
I don’t want to ruin my credit history and then have to wait years to get a mortgage if I do come back.
I have a credit card at the moment and WILL continue to pay it be in the UK or Australia. My question is, if I kept pwsying my credit card from Australia would that keep my credit history running and also keep a UK bank account open would that help?
Not looking to swindle the system but also not ruin my UK life if I need to return. I have the money now to buy a sizeable house on a mortgage so that will still remain in my account if I return.
Hope the above makes sense

If they allow you to keep it open , the yes, it will help maintain your history.
However, they are likely to close it if they know you are no longer UK resident. That may be immediately, or when they next do a portfolio tidy-up.0
