When did you last acknowledge it?0

Pretty much ignored it since 2012. I may have logged in to Ebay a couple of years ago though...0

The Limitations act 1980 is an act of parliament which gives creditors a certain timeframe to recover money owing to them, the limit is six years.
The clock ticks from the date of either the last missed payment, the default date, or the last time the debt was acknowledged in writing, dependant on the type of debt, and the courts interpretation of the law.
This is known as the "cause of action date".
If your debt falls within this criteria, it will now be statute barred, however, this does not mean the debt in unenforcable, if you ignore it, the creditor can still take you to court and obtain a judgement in default.
If you are contacted about the debt again, you must respond with a letter telling them that time has run out to collect on this account, and the debt is statute barred, only once youve done that does the limitations act kick in.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. paypal/ebay do not report to any credit agencies , and as such there is or was not ever a default date
paypal/ebay are a foreign registered company0 -
If your thinking of using ebay/paypal again then google the threads where people did the same and then found their accounts frozen and unable to access their money.
They cannot take you to court for the debt, but the debt still exists.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
