What are you claiming for and what are you hoping to gain from this claim, have you sold your car and lost a lot of money due to the emissions scandal
They only want "positive advise" so won't be grateful for your questions.

Best just to play it safe and say "There there, it'll be ok. You'll be able to cancel the contract with one law firm free of charge and the other will pursue your claim and make you wealthy."

Don't forget to add that they'll get a refund for their car and a replacement vehicle :rotfl:

What a bunch of keyboard warriors. Making judgments on people you have no idea of? Who made you judge or jury? Seriously, if you have got no helpful comment to make when someone asks for help then do something positive with your time and don’t waste your lives being negative posting BB comments. Sad people.

It is because we don't want to pay higher costs as a result of people jumping on ambulance chasing bandwagons...

What have you lost financially? If you have lost something financially then claim away. There is no reason to have done so...

Par for the course for this board I'm afraid. There are some subjects that wind people up and this seems to be one of them. You do normally get one or two useful responses in amongst all the dross. I'd agree with post#6; just explain your error and I think you'll be OK.

    Have people misjudged you?

If so, why did you sign up to the legal action if it wasn't in anticipation of compo?

Auto express : Experts find dieselgate fix Golf uses up to 14% more fuel
dedicated $17.5 billion towards a settlement with American authorities. This includes a $10 billion US vehicle buyback and a $4.7 billion fund for clean car and emission offset projects.

So VW group have lied, cheated , CEO has lost his job. They have paid billions out in US but not UK. 1 rule for 1 etc?

Personally I’m not bothered about the compensation. I already have 4 DD’s to charity’s each month and this would have gone to them as well.

Why should they get away with it? I would be delighted if these solicitors get compensation and automatically paid it to charities. This just means I have to do it myself.

And you just worry that you’ll have to pay higher costs ?

What about their fancy lifestyle they have to keep up?
    14% more fuel? That's still a comfortable 56MPG.

Personally? Not really. I don’t really care whether people get compo or not. What I don’t understand is what compensation individual customers are entitled to. What actual loss have you suffered, for example? I simply don’t accept that people bought VW cars because they were concerned about the environment.

Not letting them “get away with it” is an odd reason to sign up with a law firm and as you have discovered, doing so might lead to you incurring costs. When a company behaves badly, I don’t buy from them any more. The VW Group don’t seem to be lacking customers in the UK.
